So I went to Walmart and bought one of those Revlon wide tooth styling/detangling combs. It cost me $1.28. I took it home and filed the ridges down with a fine grain nail file. I got to every nook and cranny. There is nothing there to split or break any hairs. Was I being too cheap? I had to! I have already spent so much on supplies this month! Lol
I've heard of people doing this and having success. I bought two bone combs for $20 bucks with shipping and handling. Definitely worth the $20 bucks if you find this isn't working or you are ready to spend the money! I'm totally glad that I bought them.
I am sure that eventually I will buy the seamless ones but I still need to spend some more money on a few other things. Maybe next month. I hope this one will do for now!
No way, I don't think your being cheap. Not at all. Actually, I thought I was the cheap one. I purchased one of those shower combs, and have been using that instead of my regular wide toothed comb.
Now if you ask me...that's cheap! But when my purse will allow, I'll get one of those bone combs too. I dunno, I might try filing down the wide tooth comb I have now first!

I dont know if this is much different but I found a best friend in Jilberes (sumthin like that) shower comb that someone recommended from Sally's. It was only $1.49 and never snags or pulls my hair. I love it!!!
I dont know if the jebiere shower comb qualifies as a seamless comb, but I bought one (actually quite a few) at sally's a few months back for .99 cents. I looked down the back of the comb and between the teeth and there are no ridges there.
I have done the same to my Conair wide tooth comb. I have one of those at-home-salon electric files that have different attachments, one is a metal one just small enough to fit in between the teeth of the comb. It worked wonderfully!

Be careful w/those combs LadyDee. There was a thread started about those Jilbere shower combs not too long ago. Apparently the teeth ends of the comb are coated with different extra shade of paint, and sometimes that comes a loose, or apart and it end up snagging the hair.
So please be careful w/it.
It's true! The Jilbere is seemless. I have 3 of these combs & have not had a problem with snagging. I love this comb--I use it on wet and dry hair & it was CHEAP!
I keep looking for seams but can;t find any. I have three (but one is missing). I have bought several for my family and friends as well. I also use it on dry hair. I do think, however, that we should stock up before they realize that their comb is worth so much more since its seamless.....
I just went to www.ebaystores.com/SalonAccessoriesinc which is actually hairsense.com. There is a new bone comb out there called Prof Detangle Hand Made Bone Comb for $6.50. Go to the third page of this link and you'll find the comb. This comb is not on their site hairsense.com.
The teeth have a tremendous amount of space between them. Is this too much space or just right for all of us needing a seamless comb?
