in my supermarket!

I went to pick up some things at Rainbow supermarket today and decided to leave the dairy section by way of the health and beauty aisle. I glanced at the shelves of hair products in passing (the pj in me!) and stopped dead when I saw a large selection of Paul Mitchell products. Then I looked closer at the surrounding shelves and saw Redken, tigi(all lines), Rusk, all Matrix lines, Sebastian, Back to Basics, Kiwi, Sexy hair(all lines), Biosilk and I think one more. I was like 'Am I in Rainbow or Tade Scret?' So I'm wondering, do any of the supermarkets you ladies frequent have these products? I know Target has some of them, but nothing like what I saw today. And what do ya'll think of this? Would you buy these products from the supermarket or stick to salon stores?

Maybe I'm being cheap but I think you should go for the one that is less expensive

I think that albertson's is higher, but I'm not sure.

None of them are cheap IMO....lol. I remember Albertson's. they went of business in Nashville a year or so before I moved away from there. They were kind of high to me. Then again, I did most of my shopping at the Wal-Mart super center and Aldi.

Remember those products aren't guaranteed unless there purchased at a salon or beauty supply. That's why trade secret and Ulta have beauty salons or else they wouldn't be able to sell those products.

I would be very leary of buying salon products at any place other than a salon. There's a good chance that it could be a compromised product. I have no idea how grocery and drug stores get away with selling them.

For those prices, I hope they are not compromised. But, I do understand. If I were to use any salon products, I would buy only from a salon store or maybe online depending on the product.

Yeah my supermarket (Stop and Shop) sells all of these products.....dangerous I tell ya. Just last week I went to buy some eggs and bread and a bottle of Biolage leave-in tonic just HAPPENED to appear in my basket by the time I was checking out. So of course I had to buy it...

i've bought many salon products from supermarkets and drugstores in my day. most of them have lenient return policies if you're not satisfied, but i've never had to return anything.

Yes, I see them all the time. I think it doesn't matter if I purchase the product at the supermarket or the salon...it's still the same product.

I am wondering if it has to be a salon because there are beauty supply stores near me that sell nexxus and affirm products so I am wondering if it has to be bought at a salon. God bless you all.

The same is true for the Stop and Shop supermarkets in my area.

However, the day I see Kenra on the open market is the day I change hair products.

I hope that day never comes!

Northernbelle, I don't know how to break this do you, but just last week I saw Kenra available at my local Albertson's supermarket. I don't know if they had the entire line, but they definitely had the moisturizing conditioner for $10 and the shampoo

No, it not all the time. There was a big couterfeit scam going on for a long time. It their still going on. On just about every bottle of professional hair products/salon products there's a phone number you can call to report fakes and products sold in grocery stores.

I have been trying to tell people this forever. I have no clue how grocery and drug stores get away with selling this stuff. Most people probably buy it and think that the product is overhyped and didn't work for them. When in fact, it's A FAKE!

There is a Schnucks grocery store in my area that has a large section of salon brand products (Nexxus, Paul Mitchell, Redken, and quite a few others). I've never bought any products from there because my husband's barber takes care of us. She gives us nice discounts and/or freebies for being loyal customers.

Same here I only buy salon products in chain salons like Trade Secret, Regis, Ulta or JCPenny's.
