O.K...I use lye relaxer, but now I am starting not to like my hair being really straight. I mean it looks good and all when it is out, but I miss my naps. I just got my hair relaxed on Monday after waiting 2 months and 1 week. That is the longest I ever went. To be honest with you guys...I did not like my naps before and now I grew to love it, but it is hard to manage when I don't relax it. I was thinking about using a texturizer. My mother told me it is possible to transition without losing all of your hair. Has anyone made a transition from relaxer(lye or no-lye) to texturizer with success?

I've learned a texturizer is just a mild relaxer. It loosens the curl/kink pattern but not straight.

Some of us, including me, use a mild relaxer for less than the recommended time in order to keep some of the texture. So far, so good without problems or breakage.

Only your roots will be texturized. You know that you can't unrelax then texturize to get wavy\curly hair.

Yeah I know I have to only do the new growths. My mother said that it is possible though. But I have to clip the relaxed ends as I go....I don't know
