I want this hairstyle, and I need a setting lotion

I want to do my hair like this but with out the use of chemicals. any suggestions? My hair is in my link.
In addition to a setting lotion, I need a good product to protect my hair from heat styling. Do you guys have any other styles that I could do. I'm starting to experiment with my hair again, and I welcome all of the suggestions.

that look could be achieved with larger sized perm rods.
nu expressions has a great setting lotion..
i dont know about a heat protectant because i dont use heat on my hair.. and when i did the only thing i used was frizz ease relax blow dry cream. HTH.. somewhat

I like elasta QP silk as a heat protectant. Its the only true one Ive tried though, but I kow a lot of ppl use biosilk silk therapy as a HP to flat iron. that or any glosser/serum helps with the heat and give nice shine.
