I use no heat on my hair for months but ...is it okay to blow dry

For me, blowdrying is a no-no :nono: Every time I blow dry my hair it gets completely flat and the ends look fried. Maybe it's my technique... I don't know. But when I do use heat, it has to be flat-iron only. I can airdry and then go through it with a flat-iron and my hair does fine. You have to see how your hair responds...and listen to it.

I normally blow out my roots only after rollersetting but this week I did it the way I did when I first started doing my own hair. I washed the night before then put in 2 braids. The next day after work, my hair was about 90% dry. I then applied blowdry cream the entire length of my hair and a wee bit if Shikakai Oil (thx BJ!) to the ends as a protectant. I then roundbrushed beginning at the roots pulling them taut w/the brush and running the dryer in a back and forth motion over each section before blowing the length. I then used the roundbrush and dryer to curl my ends under. Once done, I put on a headband to make sure my edges stayed straight then did 3 big pincurls. Since using these methods, my hair hasn't seen a flat iron in over a year.

:blah: Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think there's anything wrong w/blowdrying every two weeks, I would just recommend waiting until you hair is at least 80% dry and ALWAYS use a heat protectant and some type of oil sealant on your ends. HTH!
