I used it as my scalp oil on clean dry hair and did not use the plastic cap. Just put it on, bunned it, and wrapped it up for the night. The next day, most of the oil was soaked up in the satin scarves and the terry cloth turban. My hair was so full of life and body and the smell was a very insignificant amount. I was getting a little tired of the wet hair from the steam cap overnite and need a break...to just let my head be for a few days. So I brushed it some and it was all good. Guess what, I am leaving it in for another couple of days before I shampoo and you know, it is back to the bun....I am wearing my scarves and cap out and let this marinate up in there. It does not feel too oily today, but it is still there working on the scalp and hair. It really feels good on the scalp. Like something is working.....for the better. Bonjour

Was your hair completely dry in the morning. I wear a shower cap and take it off when I am getting dress. It is not completely dry sometimes. I think I am going to try this method when it gets real cold. Boston is not the place to run out with wet hair in the winter.

Interesting.

I am currently poking holes in my plastic, as someone suggested, so I won't wake up too wet. Then I wash my hair.

But the prospect of waking up dry, not too oily and having body and moisture sounds good. I might have to try this on the weekend.

I hope the scarf doen't absorb too much moisture from my hair though....

No plastic bag at all. I did a deep conditioner and dried using the ponytail method. I did not apply any oil or product at all. Just brushed it into the ponytail. By the next late morning, my hair was completely dry. (it was washed about 11:00p.m the night before). Then I took it down and applied the MTG lightlyto scalp and tied it up with 2 satin scarves. Covered them with a terry turban. My hair looked so sleek and shiny. Tonight, I am doing it again so that it can marinate for a couple of days. By this evening you could barely smell the MTG. Besides, I put fresh scarves on before I put it back up. I think the scarves hold the smell in longer than necessary, so just change the scarves and the turban because they have observed so much of the oil while your scalp and hair got well lubricated. The second set of scarves were still reasonably fresh when I just took them off tonite. So back on they go till late morning to be replaced with clean satin scarves and my terry turban.I am going to buy more terry turbans, ladies. No, my hair was not damp at all! My hair was silky and strong feeling and felt very lubricated. Hope this helps. Bonjour
