Tricking the president
ok so i bought a pair of scissors intending to use it to do the S&D method of trimming. My hair was about 1 inch from BSL. I went through my hair for a couple of hours for four or five nights. and then for some unknown reason last night, i started getting frustrated cuz i was still seeing split ends, so i figured i might as well just do an actual trim. so i cut off about 1 inch. then tonight i was going through my hair again and noticed 1 split end and that sent me into a frenzy so i started cutting off a little more. so by the time i finished, it was a bit uneven and i cut a bit more to try and even it up. all in all, i ended up cutting close to 2.5 inches!! WTF!!?? if i was gonna cut that much, why in the world didnt i just stop and wait to get a trim at my next touchup
!!! the worst part is that it is still a bit uneven. But i must say that my hair feels a LOT better. i dont have all those wispy hairs at the end anymore thank god.
When i get my touchup in two weeks, should i just wait it out or should i just get it all evened out ?

i think you should get it even so you will be happy
You have to be strong and step away from the scissors. The upside is ends do look and feel awesome afterwards.
I did the same thing over the weekend. I just couldn't stop! I did it before 2 weeks ago too, I don't even care about my goal length anymore, I felt so relieved after seeing nice clipped ends. It'll be ok, you'll reach your goals again real soon
what's funny is that this experience finally convinved me to color my hair. I was always so afraid of damage and having to cut off a hugh chunk of my hair to get it back on track. well, you know what, i just cut off a big chunk of my hair and it didnt kill me so i'm game
