I relaxed my hair

Well, it's more texturized than anything. I used CON relaxer and I left it on for less than 10 minutes. I missed some spots but my hair was so tangled and knotted that I could barely pull it apart to comb it. I deep conditioned with a mix of lekair and humectress.

From transitioning I have learned that I can stretch my relaxer. I'll never perm at 6 weeks again! I've also learned to really appreciate and care for my hair.

If I was an inspiration to those of you who are transitioning, I do hope it's easier for you. But, do what makes you feel comfortable and good about yourself. I know I'll pursue a natural hairstyle some day in the future. Just not now.

I'll post some pics later this week.

It's always good to do what's best for you and wat you want- whether relaxed, natural, texturized, etc. I'm happy for you and hope that you stay happy with your decision! :)

D,

Even though I was screaming NOOOOOOOOO when I saw your earlier post about buying 2 boxes of relaxer....it's all good girl, you're still my hair buddy and I understand and support your choice.

Now swing that hair for those of us who have to deal with shrinkage!!!

lol thanks guys!

I think i'll be happy with this. It's very thick and it's grown since i've chopped off a few inches. In fact, it really doesn't look like it was relaxed today. But, it has a lot of body and I can work with it.

Here's a pic. (i'm not naked) :)

Gurl, you gots some beautiful hair!
Thanks for your support:)

You are so right when you say do what makes you happy and feel good, enjoy the easier to manage side again, and remember you can always correct those underprocessed areas another time if it wasn't to your exact liking. Other than that enjoy!;)
Edited to add: Oh it really turned out nice I love this hair style, this is one of my favorites, and it doesn't look like it's underprocessed, just nice, full and still has thickness, I love it.

Well at least you are not in limbo about what you want to do with your hair!

Girl do what is best for YOUR hair! ;) I transitioned, broke down and relaxed, and am now transitioning for the long haul. If I ever get to the point where I can’t manage my transitioning hair due to dryness, breakage, or whatever the case then I’ll make sure that whatever I do to my hair is because I want it in the best shape possible. Good luck to you and happy hair growing! :antlers:

So you KNOW I was screaming NO  as well!

Girl, you hung in there like nobody's business and you put up a good fight. I'm glad you are finally happy.

With your hair texturized, your wash 'n gos are going to be so FIERCE!!!!!!

I curled it under after I applied some heat protectant (sp). My hair feels heavy and it's moving alot :D . Much easier to comb too.

Onepraying - you're too funny! You're doing a fantastic job with your transitioning and I hope that it remains a wonderful journey for you.

JCoily and BBS - you are still my inpirations. Thanks for sharing your progress.

Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement. :Rose:

I'll post some updated pics later.

DSylla, when was your last relaxer? Curious how long you were transitioning.

Thanks

I am glad that you are happy with your decision! I truly understand how you feel about fighting with two to three different textures of hair every single day. It's been almost 3 months for me and I am tired, but as long as I can comb through it and there is no breakage, I am going to keep on striving.

Your hair looks great!

I wish you the best of luck..Happy Growing! :)
