I received my AfroVeda order today, and OMG...

oh i forgot i love the hibiscus oil too.
im not really sure how i feel about the curly custard. i havent really used it much. i used it a couple of times on wash and gos and its not very moisturizing on its own but coupled with a great leave in its ok.

I JUST ordered the Shea Amla Butter cream this weekend...how long did it take for you to receive your product. I got the one for 9 dollars just to start off. If i like it i will get a bigger batch next time. I cant Wait!!!

It took 2 weeks. I ordered on 11/10. Kind of long, but it was worth it.

It's good to see others getting on board with Afroveda. I've been using her products for about a year now and that Shea-Amla Butter became a staple after the very first use. I'm in love with her Whipped Gelly too.

Why ooo why. So they are having the sale this Friday and I already convinced myself all I needed was the trial sizes to start off with....

I've never used the products before, but with the deal and the rave reviews I feel like I should LOAD UP! Just in case I do like the stuff. :lachen:

Atleast with the 8oz containers. I heard a little goes a long long way.

I want EVERYTHING too. All the butters for sure.

I think this is going to be my primary line of products.

Packaging...A+
Ingredients...A+

Shea Amla Whipped Butter Cream...:lick::lick::lick::lick:. My hair is instantly softer and I like the smell.
My only regret is that I didn't have the money to buy the largest available sizes. Next order:yep:

I haven't used the Hibiscus Oil or Natural Gel yet, but I look forward to both.

AFROVEDA IS GREAT!

Would anyone know if these products work well for people with dreads? I wanted to pick up a set for my mom as part of her christmas gift....thanks!

Y'all won't regret it I heart her products I recently purchased the 16oz of the shea alma after trying out the butters set and the whipped gelly. The shea alma, whipped gelly, and curly pudding were keepers, totally twisted was moisturising but made my hair look dull and the verdict is still out on the cocolatte hair mask. Shea amla and kbb hair milk-nectar are going to take me from apl to brastrap by summer 2010!!! I love that her prodcuts moisturize without a greasy feeling and my hair feels moist for days. Anyone with locs will easily be able to use her products as they don't seem to leave heavy residue or build-up. I am so heavy handed with product d I see the 16oz of shea alma lasting me at least until mid-march. I wish I would have found out about her sooner. I'm glad I'm not a PJ cause y'all would have me in Central PK pushing a cart full of hair products.:lachen: Enjoy your products guys:yep:

Maria!
Your hair is sooo long!
What do you use the butters for?

Thank you for the bolded part!

To answer your question, I use the butters in different ways:

  • When my hair is curly I put my hair in a ponytail and apply one of the butters as I would a gel. It gives me nice moisturized hair and nice curls. My curls come out bigger.

  • When I rollerset my hair I apply butter on my ends and my dry hair comes out bouncy.

  • At night time I apply the butter to my curly or straightened hair, then do a protective style. I got the idea from (I think) EmpressRI, who mentioned she uses this on her straightened hair. I thought it would make my hair revert, but it doesn't.

When did you order? I'm trying to patiently wait for my own!

ETA: Nvm! I see your response to another poster above!

Yeah I just ordered a few staple products on 11/8 and just got them today. I don't like the 2 week wait, but TRUST, these products are well worth the wait. I LOVE all of her butters!!! :cupidarrow:. I hope she's prepared for the onslaught of PJs!!!!!:spinning:

The Shea Amla is the best, I just reordered some.

I used it on my puff the other day and it was nice and moisturized. It wasn't especially curl defining, but a bit more than if I'd used a leave in.

I've also ordered a few other items I haven't tried. My other fav is the Hemp Seed Butter

Thats definitely true. I bought the largest size cocolatte moisture mask about 4 months ago. I use the cocolatte every other day and my container is still 3/4ths full. I also bought the jumbo curly custard at the same time and with me using it about 1x per week I haven't really even made a noticeable dent in it. Still the idea of a sale makes me want to go order even though there is no way in the world i'll use up my current stash before summer 2010. If you buy the largest size just buy a couple of travel containers from the drugstore to put a small amount in for regular use. I store the jumbo containers in the fridge and just take them out when I need a refill.
