I remember reading something that if your individual strands are thinner than a piece of thread then it is fine. If it is the same diameter....then it is medium. If it's larger in diameter....then it is coarse.

Thanks for the explanation. I have a mixture of both on my head, but my hair is mostly fine

You can tell how soft and silky her hair is in this pic. I'm trying to find a better one.

Yep, I see some beautiful waves in that pic. She's a cutie!

Okay ya'll I'm confused on this fine hair thing. I know some peoples hair pics looks coarse and thick but it turns out that they have fine hair like (DSYLLA) I always thought her hair was thick and coarse. She has ALOT of hair!

For those of who know Ateya(I love her) from youtube- would you say she has the same hair as Keisha(I love her too)?

its funny how this thread should come up......... during the summer i was having one of my down hair days where i hated my hair cuz it wouldnt grow and any head of hair i saw that i liked i would ask the female who their stylist was lol and while at Atlanta Station (those atl ppl know what im talkn about) i was walkin out of the movie theatres and this girl walking in front of me had GORGEOUS hair... and she stopped in front of Ten Pin to talk to someone and it was RUDYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! i was so shockd.. lol i shouldve askd her tooO! lol.. but i had a moment where i didnt wana seem stalkerish and i just kept walking lol... i wont forget that day bcuz her hair was just so pretty. i couldnt tell if it was a natural press though. but it wass ggawwggus lol :grin::grin:

SO and I were seated next to her table at Justin's Restaurant this summer and it took me awhile to figure out it was Rudy. Her hair looked more 3b/c to me. It looked really soft and had waves from the crown of her head to her ponytail.

I have my own Keisha Knight sighting. I was @ a restaurant in Atlanta called Thumbs Up (think upscale Waffle House) & she was in there. She had just signed in to be seated & was walking towards me as I was coming in. Though I didn't say anything, she read my face that I recognized her. But I just spoke, didn't say anything else.

She's a beautiful girl even when she isn't trying. Her hair looked just as healthy as it always does. If I should see her again I will ask, on behalf of my LHCF sisters, exactly what her routine is. :yep:

you can have alot of hair and the strands are fine. all that means is dsylla has alot of fine strands and that makes the hair looks thick.
ateyaaa always says her hair is coarse, to me it doesnt look that way but then again im watching it on the internet so idk.

That's what I'm saying.....I'm convinced she has some good hair:grin:

There is a difference between having fine strands and having fine hair. To avoid confusion, I prefer to speak of strands as being thick / thin, and hair as being low or high density. DSylla has *very* high density hair, which means she has lots and lots and lots of strands. However, each individual strand is thin/fine. My hair is similar. So people look at my hair (especially when it's natural) and expect it to feel coarse, and then get a shock when they touch it and it's relatively soft.

I like thick strands and high density better anyway but that is just me. *shrugs*:ohwell:
Yeah, me too. I dream of thick, strong strands. If I could accomplish that, my hair would have very little worries. Too bad strand diameter can't be changed.

I have the February 2009 subscription of Sophisticate's Black Hair magazine and Keisha talks about some of the products that she uses and she states that she does not have any chemicals or relaxers in her hair.

It's in the issue of Sophisticate's Black Hair mag with Michelle Obama in the cover.

I like her hair better when she was a little girl. OMG!!! But she is natural

Pantene's Classic Clean Shampoo, their Moisture Renewal Shampoo, their Hydrating Curls Conditioner (when she wears her hair curly) and Aveda's Brillant Emollient Finishing Gloss. These are the only products she mentions.
