I CANNOT STOP TRYING NEW HAIR PRODUCTS!!!!!

Is it really bad not to have a set regime? I do what I am supposed to (clean, moisturize, etc.) but I cannot seem to stick to one set of products whether they are working or not. So far, my hair is fine but can somebody tell me if I am asking for trouble?

TIA!!

I feel your pain.. The same thing is happening to me.

I know how you feel! I have so many conditioners and moisturizers LOL. As a matter of fact I was just about to stop by Sally's on my way home for some AOGPB but I'm trying to save up for an apartment so priority comes first.

I have the same problem....sometimes it can be a problem when it comes to when your hair decides to act up because it doesnt like one of the products, and if you use a wide variety, you'll have a harder time figuring out exactly which product isnt working. But the biggest problem you'll encounter is AN EMPTY WALLET!!!!Space wil become an issue..oh yes..I know

It is okay. The first step is to realize/admit that you have a problem. The second step is to take action to correct the problem. I am very pleased to make your acquaintance. For I too, am a product junkie.

lol

I have figured out that low maintanance hairstyles (like my current cornrows) don't leave a lot of room for error. Wash, condition, leave-in and moisturize with whatever until I am out of everything. That's the plan. I am on a self prescribed PRODUCT HALT. I can't buy anything else until I am out of everything I have. Then it is on to step 3...SHOPPING SPREE!!!

Just joking...I will probably stick to CON, CON conditioner, Surge and S-curl.

DSD- I do the same thing. I am addicted to buying new products but I have the main ones that I like to keep on hand. I think we ALL need to go to PJ counseling this summer

He looks like a [** potty mouth **] ready to attack...reminds me of my schizophrenic kitty that used to hide under things then jump out on you and bite you..

Is Redken's Extreme shampoo a good clarifying shampoo? I have a moisturizing one already so I bought Redken and it smells great but I was wondering what others thought. Also, I've had Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner for the longest but don't use it. I used the conditioner and it didn't work too well but I'm gonna try it again. Reviews?

I really like this shampoo, but I don't consider it a clarifying shampoo. I'd say its right between a clarifying and moisturizing shampoo, so its moisturizing but doesn't leave a residue. I still have a separate shampoo for clarifying (Joico Resolve).

We may need counseling!! N-O-T! I don't spend money on anything else for myself so why not spend it on my hair!

It sounds like you all need to join my Product Junkie Challenge!!

We start up again on April 15, and we're going to July 1... anyone up to the challenge??

It has really helped me to use up some of my products, and save money, too!!

I've been doing ok on products lately and have some staples that I like but there still are those products out there that I have wanted to try forever! So, I finally gave up and purchased them. Hopefully, that will put an end to my pjism...at least for a while!

Oh my - join the club!!! LOL!!! I've just decided to use up everything that's still good (I have a tendency to keep old products around just because...)and not buy anything. That being said, I still find myself going into the shakes whenever I go into a salon or Sally Beauty Supply. Don't even mention Sephora or Beauty Brands to me - my wallet will be out in seconds.

I'm eyeing the Neutrogena Triple Moisture products now.

Hi, I'm Diamondlady, and I'm a Product Junkie.
I'm trying very hard to control the problem. I became a junkie on this board. I was never a junkie before but when I started reading, everytime someone would say something was good I would try it. I still have my staple products that have worked well for me. I just keep trying other things. Some only once and then I have all this mess under the bathroom sink and in the drawers and spreading to the closets.

I think that, I will defnintely join this challenge. I have enough products to last me for the rest of the year. But I will run out and buy the Nexxus leave-in
grin.gif
. I have always wanted to try this and the thought of waiting until July just does not sit will with me.

I think that I will buy some more Hummectress and Botanoil ( I had great success with this the last time I had my hair washed and I want to continue using that for awhile)

I definitley need to get rid of some of my conditioners:

These are some (I am sure that I forgot some):
grin.gif

Conditioners:
Mizani MoistureFuse (Big Tub)
Nexxus Humectress
" Keraphix
" Emergencee
Salerm Wheat Germ Mask
Miss Keys 10 en 1 (I don't like this one)
Nioxin Moisture and Strenght
Kera-Care Humecto
Kera-Care Super Reconstructor
Sebastian Deep Penetrait

Leave-ins:
Biolage
Salerm 21
Aveda Detangler
Aveda Brilliant Styling creme
Kera-Care Leave-in
Kera-Care Foam

Finishing:
Mizani Sheen Spray
Mizani Night Time Treatment
Aveda Brilliant (Serum)
Silk Therapy (Biosilk)
Mango Butter
Mizani Volumizing Mousse
Biosilk Volumizing Mousse

On second thought ladies I think that I will extend my challenge until September.
ohwell.gif

Kaela- thanks for the advice, my hair looks great after using Redken! If it's in between a clarifier and moisturizing shampoo that's fine since my hair is naturally dry.

I used to be a product junkie, then I stopped, but this board is so addictive and now I'm having a relapse LOL
wallbash.gif
. For example, I read raves about AOGPB, but do I really need it?
smirk.gif
My hair is short right now and it's in great condition but I tell myself,
orders.gif
"GreAtness, buy the AOGPB NOW so that when your hair grows back it's in even better condition!" I'm also tempted to buy Kenra's conditioner but I already have 2 CO, 2 Cholesterols, ORS mayo and a leave-in. Ladies, what do you think? Aghhh!

Great Nice!! I'm adding you to the list
cool.gif
. I may extend my challenge to the end of the year!! The amount of conditioners I have is ridiculous. I hope to use up a lot of stuff this summer though, when I start washing more frequently (conditioner washes)
smile.gif
. I'll see how I'm doing with all my products at the end of the summer, then decide if I'll keep going on the challenge or not!!
grin.gif

OH, if you're talking about the Nexxus Headdress, please go right out and get it!!

It's great!!

Lindy sign me up too. I have been trying to start my own personal do not buy anything challenge but I've been failing.

So I think a board challenge will help.

I am a PJ out of control I am afraid to say how many new products I bought this month.
I need REHAB and I never last 3 weeks on a challenge.
