i really don\'t want to hate my hair....

help...

I'm probably just need to retouch this inch of new growth and call it a day because my hair looks horrible whatever I do to it.

I can't air-dry it anymore because the mix of straight and curly relaxed strands mixed w/ new growth will NOT cut it.

I've finally mastered the art of flat-ironing my hair in record time (15-20min

), but it always looks so greasy when I finish...am I putting too much stuff in it?

Please....help...

What do you all use when you flat-iron?

Hey...I'm going to be the dork who replies to her own post.

I have another question:

Are there any short-haired ladies who wait over 8weeks for a retouch?

How long is your hair? If you are using a silicone containing product on dry hair, it could make the hair feel really heavy and greasy. My hair is above chin length now. I am going to make it to November and then get my retouch. I plan on doing this by getting individual braids for September until the almost the end of October and then to wear a braid out until it is touch up time. Or just skipping my touch up and getting more braids.

That depends on what you call short. My hair is just brushing my shoulders (in the back). If you call this short (I now call this medium length) then yes I wait past 8 weeks.

Re: i really don\'t want to hate my hair....

i always use oils instead of greases cause they don't weigh my hair down.

And don't hate your hair, you are blessed to have it, there are lots of people with alopecia who would love to trade places with you

I do feel a bit better. After a day's worth of school and thinking about it...I've decided to just give myself a retouch. I know it's been at least 2 months/8weeks. So, maybe it's just my time.

I asked the hair length question because I bet longer hair is much easier to deal with when there are two hair textures. I can't wait until I'm able to just rinse my hair whenever I want and put it up in a ball.
