i want to try glycerin again. in the beggining it made my hair SO moisturized and then out of nowhere dryness. i think it was maybe my regimin. on curly nikki i read that adding water to your glycerin will stop it taking moisture out of your hair but as a relaxed head, when i have a fresh relaxer i want my hair straight. will this pose a problem?? do you think i could mix it with aloe vera gel its thicker and less water?? TIA!

I'm not sure...are you using pure glycerin? I know that I can use CareFree Curl Gold Instant Activator on my dry relaxed hair ends, wrap it up wear my silk scarf and after 30 - 40 minutes (or a little less) it'll be flat iron fresh!
If plain glycerin is better I'd surely like to know...
sorry I'm not much help but hopefully someone can come in and clarify things.

I'm with gadgetdiva. I would rather use a glycerin product made by the pros who've figured out what combination of ingredients work best to prevent drying. Most times when I hear of people of people having too much trouble with glycerin products is when they are mixing them. Lazy juicers like myself who'd rather buy the store brand of glycerin products seem to have a lot of success with them. While I've used da juice in humid DMV, my mom was using it in hot and dry Arizona summer. We both had good success with it. None of the "robbing hair of moisture" stories you hear about glycerin products when in dry whether. And I reckon it's coz the makers of this knew glycerin properties as a humectant and somewhat ensured the recipe created a buffer of sorts in case the atmosphere is different.

So my suggestion is don't try to guess "the recipe of Coca Cola"; buy the real stuff and save yourself and hair all the headache.

thanks for the posts you guys!! i may try hawaiin silky 14-1. my hair dried out with wave nuvou but maybe my hair just doesnt like that specific moisturizer.
