I need help with relaxer gone wrong!

Last week I had a Peruvian stylist (who claimed experience) apply a relaxer I brought with me from the US. Long story short, the relaxer did not work at all. My hair looks like I haven't had a relaxer in some places and it's straight in others. How long should I wait til I try to do another relaxer myself?
