Ok, I am thinking of getting my hair trimmed/dusted, but I need some motivation to do so. Can someone please, please tell me what the benefits of trimming are? I know my ends need dusting, but I think this will set me back a bit, but if I know the benefits, I will be more motivated.
please, please help.

I believe trimming/dusting is only needed if your ends are not healthy or if you absolutely can't stand to have uneven hair. Trimming is not necessary unless to make your hair grow. The only benefits are to even out and cut off broken/unhealthy ends.HTH:yep:

Thanks girl, thats helpful. My ends look very frizzy (not as straight as the rest of the hair shaft), does that mean they are unhealthy?

Sounds like your ends are very dry. When you look at them, do you see any splits? If not, then I would say to keep them moisturized and hidden for about a week or two. I don't necessarily mean in a baggie (although that would be beneficial for dry ends), just up in a bun would suffice. You can take it out nightly and re-do it in the morning. Whatever is easier for you. The goal here is just to keep them out of the cold airs way.

Try profective healthy ends, extra virgin olive oil or ORS carrot oil (it really has a carroty salad scent) or whatever moisturizer you normally use on your hair. That should help.

Well I like blunt-looking ends, so my answer might be a little biased. Trimmed ends look very neat to me. I hate to see hair that's very scraggly at the ends--not a good look.:nono: So I'd say do a little trim, especially if your ends are split. It doesnt have to be a big trim at all.
