And to make matters worse.....I'm a PJ with a bad memory. I buy something use it once and if I don't like it I put it in the back of the cabinet. Months later I see someone on here raving about it and I go out and buy it again:nono:. Last night when I was going through all of this stuff I saw 2 and three bottles of the same things. I don't even use a third of this stuff.

Somebody help me please:wallbash:

that's not bad at all!
my stash is about... oh... 2x that :)

but for real, though... we do need some kind of support thread. my credit and debit cards are in PAIN!

Gir, keep a LIST!! It's the only way I can keep track of what I used - I make a note of what it was, when I used it, and what I thought of it - that way, when someone raves, I can reference my list, first.

there ia a BUY NOTHING FOR MAY 2008 challenge made for folks like this.....there will be similar challene for June

Oooh, you are going to do a June Challenge? :look: I think there should be a 3 day grace period if you are going from one challenge to another - to stock up, and as a 'reward' for making it through the month....

wow. i thought i had a problem:lachen:. you make me want to go out and buy more just so i can say atleast im not that bad.
no but all jokes aside i need help too. my only problem is that now that im using products like paul mitchell, redken, kenra, keracare, and mizani i love them all so its not like im wasting money is it?

"It's hard out here for a PJ!" :giggle:

It will get better though when you find what works for your hair.:yep:

Wow! I use to be a product addict myself :spinning:

Tips

> Narrow the produts down to what you use often and what works well for your hair

>Try Selling the remaining products on the exchange/sell board

>Get a medium basket to store the products you use

> If you have extra space after packing your products... only allow yourself to get something that fits. If it doesn't fit you don't need it.

> Try to stay away from new product threads

This has helped me.

Im not sure which is worse.... says the person with buys in bulk even with no storage space....

I mean, is it better to have 38 bottles of different conditioners or 38 bottles of the SAME conditioner

I think I would spend more more buying different conditioners seeing if they work compared to buying what I know works for my hair.
I never have go out and buy a conditioner for a cowash or pre-poo.

Something that has been beneficial to me is to write a list of the products that I have and the quantity next to it. I bought a small notebook from Walmart for $2 (7 X 5 in).

I sometimes take it with to the BSS to make sure I dont buy products that I have already purchase. Whenever I finish a product, I cross it out in my notebook.

this is what i need, i am a fan of post-it notes (i even have the digital ones now) but i am severely absent minded and i make so many different lists and stick them so many places that i tend to just start a new one when i think of something. i think i have 3 different lists of skin products i wanna try and 4 others with conditioners alone. come to think of it...did i ever start that hair journal or not...:lachen:

I think I'm going to join the June challenge. In my Fotki, I have a product album that has maybe 1/2 of my products. They were the only ones in the bathroom, I didn't pull anything out of the "hair closet" that used to be a linen closet in my other bathroom! It's kinda embarrasing. But I love stuff. Then I get nervous if it's something I like that it might end up discontinued so I wanna stock up. Then I wanna try new stuff, even though I know what works for me. I was just thinking about this last night. Last summer I stuck w/a strictly Dominican routine and most of the products are very inexpensive, real avocado, coconut milk, and honey prepoo's which is cheap as well, and I had AMAZING growth. I haven't straightened in a few months, but I don't feel like I've had as much progress because I'm using so many different things and not giving one thing a chance to do it's thing.

my product junkiness extends past hair product into body products also :perplexed i went to vickie secrete store yeaturday and lost my mind, mind you i had just given away like half of my sprays and lotions about a month ago in an attemp to "cleanse my soul" but i got sucked back in, at least i only lose my mind with the really good sales tho :lachen:

:lachen: I started using post-it too. But they started to engulf my desk and I couldnt figure out what was what.

im so excited my dad put up a new cabinet in the bathroom so that gives me an excuse to fill up on more stuff:lachen:

You could try using somewhat of an affirmation. I kept telling myself over and over again everyday that I didn't need anymore hair care products and that I need to use the ones I have. You'd be amazed at how much that helped me. The last thing hair-related I purchased was John Freida's Color Glaze (clear) and that was almost a month ago.

 - You know VS Semi- Anual Sale starts next month. :yay:
I bought a lot of perfumes this year too so I know the feeling.
