I love this couple and the way they are taking such good care of their daughter! I really love that they are conscious not only about making sure she looks good, but also about affirming her beauty and sending her positive messages about her hair. That is so important for little black girls growing up into black women in this society in which our difference is not often appreciated. Hooray for them!

That was really nice. I appreciate the parent's efforts. Brad and Angelina need to read that book cuz poor Zahara stays lookin crazy. :/

Nice to see a man doing a child's hair. To bad I saw vaseline in that picture lol. I'm sure with all the press this had, he is using better products...I hope at least!

That is awesome. I love seeing men take pride in doing their daughters hair. I know my DH does. That dad does a great job, too.

UM, is he detangling her hair with a FORK?????? oh boy, and Vaseline is not too bad, there are threads on here about the benefits of vaseline. I use it sometimes to seal in moisture.

 I noticed the same thing with the fork. At least he's trying! Big thumbs up to this fellow.

I know some white couples/families who have adopted black children, and for some reason, the hair issue seems to be something they did not bank on having to deal with...
I wish more would take the initiative to learn how to properly care for AA hair, especially with all this knowledge and info at our fingertips via Youtube. :yep:

Seriously, we have NO excuse anymore. From the comforts of our home we can learn so much! I applaude this Dad who is really making his daughters hair a priority!!

That is really an awesome story! I am glad to see that they were not intimidated by their babies hair. Our hair is definitely a cultural issue for us. For me, it is not about doing what you think others will love, but taking care of what you have to show the beauty of it.
