I love my maxiglide I was lost after taking out my braids. I had an afro, snappy nappy and I thought I wasn't going to be able to do anything I thought I was going to have to wait a day and end up and getting a perm. But it really worked better than I thought. Two thumbs up for MAXIGLIDE. I also posted pics you can check it out on my Fotki page below!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Maxiglide did a good job straightening your hair! I also wanted to tell you that I love the color and the layers in your hair! Happy hair growing!

I ordered my maxiglide from them, but they are taking to long. I need it before next Tuesday.

divine,
Your Maxi Glide straightened your hair beautifully.

A few weeks ago, I purchased one. But my hair reverted before I finished my hair. What temp did you use? What products did you use to protect your hair from the heat, and help your hair from reverting?

ScorpioF thanks. I didn't use any heat protectants but I did use Lacio Lacio and 7 Day Relaxer by Culture so that might have something to do with it!!!!!!!!!

seiriously!?!?! wow...was it humid in area you were doing it??

i took FOREVER to do it (this was the first time i ever flat ironed my own hair...or anyone's for that matter!) and my hair didnt convert at all...i used the #3 setting...i didnt want to burn my hair, and i figured i could turn it up a little if it wasnt working...but it was perfect!

ETA: my hair was WELL moisturized and airdried in braids...and i used ion heat prtoectant and a little whipped butter on the ends while i was doing it...

I used a setting between 1 and 2. Some of the women who had posted messsages on other msg sites about the maxiglide also feared too much heat in their hair, so they used a very low setting, with great results.

I followed suit, with very little success. :( My hair was also very well moisturized, and airdried in braids.

I'm going to try it again at a higher setting, and see what happens.

Thanks. :)

I love my maxiglide too! A little coconut oil and Ion Heat protectant will give awesome shine when used with the maxiglide.

@Simply Thanks for the suggestion.

As far as settings, I used a setting of 5 b/c the mass on my head was overwhelming!!!! It did well!!!!!!

The first time I used the maxiglide I used the 5 setting. The next two times I used 3 and 4. It got my hair just as straight with no reversion.

well, yeah, different hair takes different stuff...cuz AFashionslave used number 8  she said it didnt burn her hair at all, and it looked lovely in the pic!

I just saw the commercial for this on TV for the 1st time this weekend and was wondering if it really worked... Do you add water to it somehow b/c on TV it looked like it had steam coming from it? If so do you have to do it w/water or can u do a dry method also?

Thanks for posting the review and pics...

I used on on setting four and it worked great. I'm natural and just airdried in a ponytail, and my hair stayed straight for like 2.5 weeks, and then I had to wash it because i felt like my hair was filthy. But overall 2 thumbs up!
