I love my Caruso, but...

the claim that the set holds until the next shampoo is invalid in my case. I don't even mind that it doesn't last until the next time I shampoo, b/c many people wash each night or morning and I don't. But my curls sometimes don't make it through a three hour meeting? They look great when they're first done, but the humidity hits and ruins the set. Anyone else use Caruso during the HHH summer months (especially East Coasters)??

Maybe you are taking your hair out of the rollers too soon.

I leave them in longer in the summer to let them dry more and the set lasts all day. Or, you can hit them real good with 5 minutes under the dryer [I know, the heat will kill you].

I wear a sleek pageboy a lot, so I often can put my hair carefully in a silk bonnet at night, and the next morning, I will still have a sleek pageboy.

I do them tighter in the morning because I know they will fall throughout the day. I've had 2 caruso setters, so I have 2 sets of rollers and I use all of the jumbo and medium sized ones. I alternate a row of the jumbo with a row of the medium to give some extra curl because I know the jumbo won't hold as much curl for as long. Then I just run my fingers through the front and the roots like I'm giving myself a scalp massage to seperate the hair a little, but I don't mess with the ends.

LEO, How long do you leave them on in the summer?

I would put them in when I first get up, before my shower. Then, I would leave them in while I got dressed, and left out the door. I kept a small plastic bucket for the rollers on the car seat for my 30 to 40 minute commute. When I got to work, while in the car, I would take them out and run a quick comb through. The curls would last at least all day, if not longer in the large silk bonnet at night.

I agree with myco and LEOLADYSW....I haven't used mine in sometime but, leaving them in longer really helps the curl last.

I also let mine dry all the way... about 2 hours with no extra blowing air...etc. I can keep a bend in the hair for 4 days
without rerolling or anything...

I would really like to use these again, but am afraid they will be a disaster in this FL humidity. They worked great back in TN. I threw mine away but am thinking about buying the VS ones and trying them. Instead of rolling before leaving the house, I could try to roll in the evening and leave them in until I go to bed, sleep in a satin cap, then fluff them out when I wake up. maybe it wouldnt frizz then....

Knowing me, I'd probably forget the rollers and go into work with them in.

Now y'all know that when it's 100% humidity outside, NO kind of curl is going to hold up (if you're going to be outside for any length of time)!!!

Now in the winter time, it's a different story... you might get your curls to last a few days then, but during the humid summer months... fuggetaboutit!!!
