How do you wear your hair to bed?

Do you rebraid every night?

How long does yours last?

Any other tips I'd greatly appreciate! TIA

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

I usually mist my hair again with some leave in/distilled water and rebraid again. I also roll each braid with perm rods or I will gather all the braids and tie the ends together (if that makes sense). I can recycle this style till my next wash if I wanted too.. but lately I have been doing daily co washes. HTH

Also you might want to checkout hairlove's album. She has some in depth "how to's" on braidouts and its similar to how I do mine

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

ohh thank you !!!!

(darn...its getting late.......I guess I should get started....)I was checking to see if anyone just sleeps in a satin cap once and a while

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

The best method I've found for maintaining a braidout is to redo it.

BUT, if I know I'm just going to wear my hair in a scrunchy updo, I will just pin my hair on top of my head with clips.

I hardly ever wear my braidouts down.

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

I do as pink_flower says and re-braid every night. Two braids will do the trick for me. I just put some leave in conditioner and a teeny weeny bit of olive oil on my hair before I braid.

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

the only way to maintain a braidout is to rebraid it every night

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

Thanks everyone! Do you rebraid the same amount of braids?

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

Ccd, it might also depend on your hair type. I have coarse hair, and my hair really seems to like the braidout style. And it turns out a little different every time.

I notice that it seems to last longer if I make sure to put it in a loose ponytail at night and cover it with a big scarf or a slip even. By day three I definitely have to apply some kind of moisturizer and spray a little water on it, otherwise it looks kinda dry. By day four (if it lasts that long), it doesn't look as wavy, but is still kinda cute. Otherwise, if it's starting to look a little tired, I will just slick back the front with some gel and wear it in a wavy ponytail. That lasts for another two days. Then it's time to wash it again.

I never rebraid it at night. I just work it depending on how the original waves are holding up.

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

I used to use spritz and just pin it up before going to bed. I've found an alternative for spritz though: liquid, spray gel!

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

Hairlove thanks and I've seen you album and it's beautiful....I love this hairstyle, I'm 9 weekspost and trying to go to 12 (fingerscrossed) I find this style so easy and pretty!!!! Thanks to LHCF!!!!

NAY...YES, yes I have pretty thick coarse hair so this braidout it sticking to "me" beautifully, that's why I wondered if I had to braid everynight...... did last night and so I'll see what it looks like. Wed. night however I only did the front (cause that would look smashed up) and pulled the rest back in a scrunchie and that worked for me. So like you I'll see what they look like today versa yesterday

Either way I'm lovin' it!!!

Ccd, I checked out your photos. Girl, with that pretty, thick hair, I bet you look great in all sorts of styles!!
I liked your spiral curls a lot. Very nice.

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

Ohhhh Thank you SOOO Much! I'm really happy with the braidout because I've airdried my hair in the summer and it comes out loosely wave, but inconsistant...".curls here, wave there, frizz over there......." The braidout is far more consistant I love it

Thanks again for you advice and compliments!

Hairlove thank you so much! Well, first I have to say that I've been inspired by several of the ladies here (@LHCF) when I decided to try the spiral set,so I dusted off these rollers I had purchased years ago( that I never had the patience to figure out.)

Here's how I did it http://www.longhaircareforum.com/s...4&bodyprev=

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

ccd - I've never seen rollers like that! thanks for posting! And I can't believe your hair dried in 45 minutes! Aren't you lucky.

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

yes it was the best part as well as the turn out....I hopefully will get better at putting them in my hair as time goes on....

thanks again everyone !

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

I have Loreal scrunching gel. I originally purchased it for scrunching waves into my hair, but since it sucked at that, I noticed it leaves a bit of crunch to hair, so I use it for a touch of hold to my styles. I don't plan on buying it anymore though.

Re: I LOVE IT! I But how do you maintain a braido

oh thanks! I used Finesse mousse (how do you spell it..it looks funny) anyway, it smells great and it keeps the hair soft. thanks again
