I know I am new to the board and I actually joined a day or two after I found out about this site but I want to thank all of you. Your haircare tips, information and positive attitudes have meant a great deal to me. I was spiraling into a kind of depression with my hair and I guess life's stress and a busy schedule had taken it's toll on me. I don't have any sisters and work from home so no co-workers either (except virtual) and my closest friends are just as busy as I am so we hardly talk.

Thanks to you ladies, I now look forward to getting up and doing my hair every morning. I have been wearing a different style almost everyday this week and am having fun with it. I even look forward to doing my daughter's hair which is something I used to dread (see her hair below). Anyway, I am on the road to healthy hair for myself and my daughter and it's great to have so much useful information at my fingertips.

Welcome to the :club: My best advice is to "keep it simple." The less work you put into your hair, the better.

Thanks for that advice. I think I might be becoming a product junkie already since I keep thinking about hitting up the beauty supply again. Once I find a few products I love I will stop (I hope).

Welcome Diamond! Your dd has gorgeous hair! Look at those curls!

I'm a sahm, so before I found this board, I was in a rut with my hair too. I figured "what's the point of doing it when I'm not going anywhere?" Now I  doing my hair

Be prepared to spend tons of hours on LHCF, it's addicting! (be prepared to spend lots of money too! :lachen: )

Hey there Diamond42377!! Welcome aboard dear. I'm pretty new also, but already this board has been such a blessing to me. I found this site shortly after I realized my hair seemed too slow in growing back after cancer treatments and had even started to break off. I was like hey, I've already been bald- not that again. Now it's time to grow some hair! I discovered several hair sites, but this is the best one for me. Not only have I learned great things about hair, I can keep up with other AA's opinions on politics, entertainment and so forth. I have found people that will even stand in agreement and pray for me! I'm even learning physical health care tips on the Health forum. Wow! And some of the ladies are so funny with their cooments and threads. There are a couple I would name but I won't and then others who are just plain generous and kind about sharing the knowledge they have about hair. Whew! I didn't mean to be so long winded, but I can just go on and on about how great this site is and your thread gave me the opportunity to mention some things

I was doing fine before I stumbled across this board. :woot: Now I have so many conditioners it's pathetic. :wallbash: I'm letting my mother use some of my hair products, just to use them up. :yep: I'm not as bad as others here, though.

Wow, your story is inspiring. You will be in my prayers for continual health. I have browsed around a few of the other forum areas as well but haven't had the chance to really get into them yet. I am already addicted and find myself coming here constantly during the day (even while working). I am having fun and learning a lot so far.

Ha, me too:grin:

Well, I guess I should be thanking you all too!! If it wasn't for this board, I wouldn't know anything about MT and OCT and protein treatments, would still only wash my hair once a week (not that that's bad but I'm accustomed to my nightly co-washes now and love it), would think moisturizing is piling petroleum based grease on my head/hair. I wouldn't know anything about butters either. Yeah, I have learned a lot from this board....
