Don't judge me . It tangles so badly every time I wash it which is really discouraging and frustrating. Plus, I have carpal tunnel in my right hand and it has been inflamed and extremely painful for 2 weeks. Anyway, I'm confessing my grosskyness because I need some opinions.

My wrist is feeling a lot better and I have more mobility in my hand. I could wash my hair this weekend. I am planning on getting a touch up next weekend.

If I just forgo washing my hair this weekend and get my touch up next weekend do you think there will be a problem with the relaxer processing my hair? Will the oil and grime inhibit the relaxer from taking?

DON'T JUDGE ME DANGIT!!!!!!

I don't know about the oil/grime build up inhibiting the relaxer. It seems like it wouldn't be that big of a deal to me.

But, I just wanted to suggest braiding your hair in sections before you wash. Washing in braids is great for keeping the hair separated and then it can't get tangled. And your hair will get just as clean. Once out of the shower you can moisturize and detangle section by section.

Your Hair should be fine if You decide to wait. The Relaxer shouldn't have any problem processing.

WOW....I hope your Hands feel better. That's Sad.:ohwell:

I wish you could have a "Friend" come over and Shampoo it for you. If I was there, I would.:love5:

Hope you feel better.:sneakyhug:

I think you should be fine. As long as the hair is healthy and you've been keeping it moisturized. You had me cracking up when you told us not to judge you, don't know why that made me :giggle:

before or after your relaxer, please try lustrasilk shea butter cholesterol....it helped me with my tangles...i hope it works for you.

I would think that would be better not to wash. I remember when I would get relaxers and I would wash a week or so before that touch up, I would get some nasty burns. You should be fine as long as you haven't been scratching or anything.

I think you should be fine....I know Mane n Tail helps me fight those tangles....

I have carpal tunnel in both hands...Thats why I started taking MSM Supplement and it has helped me so much that my doctor canceled his plans to do surgery....So when I started my hair journey I was happy to hear that it was great for hair also

I don't think you need to wash it. The relaxer should take just fine. For regular washing purposes though, try msa's suggestion. It really is a lifesaver. Also, you may try some cleansing tea rinses, which can prevent you having to do too much manipulation on those occasions when your CTS flares up. I will pray for you on that front; I know those flare ups can be very disabling.
