To be quite honest, I'm not sure that your problem is a hair problem. I think it's definitely stress related. Some how you need to try to eliminate your stressful situations. I know that when I'm under stress and pressure, my hair sheds big time. Maybe some of the other ladies can help with some suggestions regarding what to do with your hair in the mean time. Hope everything works out for you :)

ETA: You can try massaging warm oils on the problem areas to circulate the blood in the scalp. HTH

I would see a dermatologist. Also, treating the symptoms is no good if you don't cure the condition. Perhaps you need to find new ways of dealing with stress or find a way to minimize the amount of stress you're dealing with.
I wouldn't do braids or a sew-in...your hair probably needs a break from things like that. I would let it breathe and get to a derm or trichologist ASAP.

Since you're balding, I don't think you should put stress on your scalp with braids or weaves ...if anything go for a wig (face front).

But fake hair aside, I would seriously go to a dermatologist. They should be able to recommend something.

I'm sorry this happened to you. maybe you can try some scalp massges along with the advice the others posted.:ohwell: It is probably stress thats hindering your progress. I hope yr situation gets better.

Thank you ladies ...my aunt (mommy's sister) is balding at 54 I am only 32 i will not make it if this happens to me i made a email request to have an appointment to see a top black female doctor in chicago i hope it is just the hives or something simple

ITA. And also believe it is stress related. There are many ways to handle stress - exercise, warm baths, massage, meditation, deep breathing... hopefully you will find something that works for you.

It's amazing how stress can affect us, and I am so sorry to hear this is happening to you. Hopefully once you visit the derm, you will well be on your way to growing out your hair nicely again. And yes, I agree with the other members, you have to find a way to destress. Lots of luck to you.

i went to the doctor and she told me the hives were most likely on my scalp also she said to take baths in vinger and come back in three weeks so i guess i will do ACV rinse and bun it for the next three weeks and see if my scalp is any better she also gave me a list of dye free products to use i am so sick of my hair i may just get some braids and call it a day

It's okay kinchen. I'm sure the majority of us have had set backs...

Like for me for instance, back in May of last year, I had just did the big chop to go natural and used heat on my hair which permanently damaged it. I had to do another big chop days later. I've made a vow to never use heat again...

After reading your situation, if I were you, I would leave the sew-ins, weaves, and heat alone. Now that you have recognized this setback, do what it takes to nurture your hair back to health and avoid everything that is damaging to your hair.

Take care!

Happy Hair Growing! :)
