. . . when I get pregnant. Of course, given that I'm not seeing anybody and don't plan to be married for a bit, that will not be for a few years yet. But just today I was thinking about how much I hate that in-between phase when you've got inches of NG that seems to take over your whole head. I know that some people grow out their hair without doing a BC, but given my grade of hair, I just don't think that would work.

I dunno. Maybe I'll just get my hair braided up for 9 months. :lachen:

I BC'ed when I was pregnant. At the time I hated it! I probably would have gone back to a relaxer the minute I left that barbershop if I had not made a promise to myself that I would be relaxer free for my entire pregnancy. In the end, it actually worked out for the best. By the time my twins were born, I really liked my hair and I just LOVE it now that it is longer.

Good luck to you, Glib. I've been meaning to respond to your interracial problems post....

I decided to transition after I got married partly because I didn't want to be getting relaxers during my pregnancy. Over the years, I have heard conflicting info on the dangers of relaxing while pregnant but I didn't want to take any chances.

We have not started our family yet but knowing what I know now about the challenges I faced while transitioning my hair, I would not want to be going through those type of esthetic/cosmetic changes while my body is also changing and expanding before my eyes

It took me a year and a half to transition gradually with rollersets and quarterly trims and I'm so happy that that period is behind me. I now know what works for my hair and what it takes to get my hair to look great in any style I choose and I do it all myself. That would not be possible had it not been for all the input and advice from you ladies here and elsewhere. :yep:
