here.... but i'm not here
okay i just had my toch-up saturday, and with this relaxer, my hair never felt this good, and it looked shiny, and my cousin did i great roller-set, but i combed it out. so my aunt comes in with the rollers, and the setting stuff, and she goes on about how my hair looks dry and to roll it so it could look " decent " for tommrow, ( i have to go to a youth night ). has anyone experienced this, where you think your hair looks great, and someone else rains on your parade?

Whosthatgurl,

I haven't had it in a long time, but I did before I had started to transition. I had blown my hair dry, and I didn't flatiron it. A girl said, wow, your hair always looked shiny, eww it looks thick and dull here. I just looked at her, and said well it's not finished yet. She just walked on.

I really didn't want to hear that!

Sometimes I will think I'm lookin' cute with my hairstyle, and then my husband will give me "the look." And then he will say, "You're not going to wear your hair LIKE THAT, are you?"

And what's weird is I can wear my hair the exact same way on another day, and he will tell me it looks nice.

The bottom line -- You can't please all of the people all of the time, so don't even worry about other folks' comments.

Whether or not you like it is the most important factor.

i remember one time back in 2002 i think. i had blow dried my hair and thought i had made so much progress that i wanted to curl and wear it down. the curling iron that i had had a REALLY small barrel. so i went to sally's and picked one with the biggest barrel i could find. when i took it up to the counter to pay, the lady says, "are you sure you want this one? it's for long hair." ouch...

Whenever my mother see's my hair in a shake n' go, that I think looks cute, she always says something to the effect of "it's funny how your hair can snatch up to the back of your head like that". She and her family all have type 1 and 2a hair; I and two of my cousins are the only one's with type 2c - 3b hair, so the other's kinda make fun of us. Whatever, it's cute to me, I love my curls.
