this was too funny! i also became an official paid member the other day after years of hiding...so welcome aboard! i love hearing all of you ladies tell your stories about your SO's and hubbies doing your hair or reminding you to not slack on your regimens.

and I'm also co-signing with the other ladies when I say girl, keep that man!

Aww, thanks so much, you guys! He's good at roller setting but he sucks at applying coconut oil. He doesn't understand the "less is more" concept. Welp, can't win them all.

Welcome! You got yourself a personal stylist :) reminds me of my dh...he relaxes my hair better than anyone who ever did including me. LOL

LOL! Cute story.

DH already relaxes my hair and applies my rinses, after I read this and some of the other repleis, I was like, uh... you think you can start doing my roller sets and trims. He rolled his eyes and said sure...

He's saving money! He should be happy, LOL.

Reminds me of the *ONE* time I got dh to rollerset my hair (BEFORE we were married). I kid you not, I got so many compliments that day. Now mind you, I had been rollersetting my hair every week and never got that many compliments.

Now he won't do dd's hair actin' like he don't know how.

Pump him up, stroke his ego and tell him how good he is. Maybe he'll keep doing it for you! :wink2:
:giggle: Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

I do not understand why you all find this story so strange or so cute. It is a matter of relationship. I do not think we can judge a SO or DH behvior as it depends so much on the situation

My DH has always been helping me in all haircare matters. I find this quite normal as he is the one who asked me to keep my hair very long and to style it that way

During some time after our marriage, I was pretty ashamed to show him the very big rollersets and sweating under the dryer I have to endure to get that hair. But at a time, it went more a question of practicabilty. To rollerset very long hair properly is quite impossible if you have not external aid. After discusing the issue with several forum members who were very helpful advisors (thanks) I discussed the matter with him and he was more than receptive. Since that time I do not hesitate to ask him for help, but without being intrusive. And he does this very well, anyway any external person will do it better than your self on long hair.

At the end of the day, I think he is very grateful for my willingness to get my hai as he likes and he tries to be as helpful as possible. Not only he helps putting the rollers when I have no other help available, but also when he is at home at that time he will sit next to me when I am under the dryer and believe me it is a great support after one hour packed under the very hot dryer.

How funny!! I wish my DH could rollerset! I told him the other night that I was going to have him trim my ends, and he was like "we need to buy a wig then so i can practise" hahahaha!
