I guess I should've done this several posts ago...

:peek2: ...but better late than never...

Hello to all – my hair and I thank you!!!!

Although I never really made a conscious decision to “go” natural…I stopped relaxing my hair over 7 years ago. Since then, and the 20 something years prior, I had absolutely no clue what was good for my hair, and never even contemplated growing my hair long and healthy.

I mostly kept my hair in micros. Then I’d take them out and wear a press & curl for a little while until my hair inevitably started thinning and breaking, and then I’d put my micros back in. Mind you, DC’ing, moisturizing w/ anything besides products like blue magic or marcel wax were foreign concepts.

I started my journey about 3 months ago with what I like to refer to as the worst braid out in history. I took out my sew in, and began trying to breathe life back into my poor neglected tresses. I am so encouraged by all that I’ve learned here and by seeing the incredible progress so many other ladies have made. Finding this forum has made a true impact in my life and I’m grateful to all of you.

 Welcome!!! Girl, I would be right where you are if I hadn't decided to be cheap and not pay for braids anymore - it's amazing how no-fuss they are!

Good luck on your journey!

I know I sound all dramatic and stuff.....should've titled the thread like Eddie Murphy in Coming to America: "I am very happy to be here!"

I know right - I've been considering getting them again at some point now that I know that I still have real hair in there that needs to be cared for - hello! But I'll probably try to do them myself - I've become very phobic of any one else's hands in my head besides my own (and DH's of course )
