We went to the store an I just started grabbing stuff off the shelves. This is what I got

ORS Mayo
Suave humectant conditioner
pantene hairspray
vo5 hot oil
suave biolage knockoff conditioner
oil sheen
vo5 sheer hair dressing
vo5 dry ends
pantene daily renewal stuff
ors setting lotion
And thats just at Harris Teeter

We went to the mall before that and I went to trade secrets. As I was walking around the store I noticed their sales people looking at me like I couldn't afford anything. I got the counter and I had 4 shampoos, 3 leave-in sprays, and about 6 conditioners. Then the guy had the nerve to look me up and down and ask "All of this today, how are you going to pay". I was so madI just stormed out the store. Their manager was out at lunch so I went to aveda and the regis salon and bought stuff there. They were nice to me and didn't have anything rude to say. I went back to trade secret and blessed out the whole staff. I go in that store all of the time and I have never had any problems till today. I actually like the manager and she is always friendly to me but I just told her that her staff was a bunch of racist /images/graemlins/censored.gif /images/graemlins/swearing.gif. After I was done she tried to apologize but I just walked out. I was so pissed off. When I told my mom she asked if I cussed them out. I said yes of course and she told me good, now I don't have too. I feel better now though, I have new stuff to make me feel better.

Way to go Dionne. That's teaching them a lesson!!!

In UK, if you ever do come here, they ask that question but it means cash, cheque(check), debit or credit card.

Geez, how rude of him. Heck, I hope he meant 'cash, check or charge'.

The staff @ the Trade Secret where I live are a bunch of
d---heads, too. They are so stuck up it's just unbelievable. I swear, they must forget that they are just 'Sales Associates' -- their job is to 'sale' stuff to me. I'll walk in and they don't greet me...Another customer will walk in like right after me, and they'll 'pounce' right on them like "hi, how are you today, is there something I can help you find?" And when they do finally decide to assist me, they don't even carry what I came in there to buy and get the attitude that I had the nerve to ask about a specific product. Complete d---heads!

You go girl. I'm glad you spoke to the manager about it, that was totally out of order on their part.

BTW I never knew ORS did a setting lotion. Is this a new product by them?

I commend you for knowing to stand up for yourself at such a young age Dionne (if I rememebr correctly you are just graduating highschool - yes?) It is very important as a black woman to know when it's appropriate to do that and to do it in such a way as to not reinforce the very stereotypes people have of us. It takes some of us years to get comfortable with that part of our experience in the world. It sounds like you picked the prefect battle and handled yourself well. I am so proud of you chicita. /images/graemlins/clap.gif

And you also didn't spend your money there but went somewhere where they appreciated your business AND you still have goodies to you. Well done! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't really kniow if it is new or not. It is called elasti-tea or something like that(the bottle is not with me know). It is supposed to help pump up hair strands and decrease breakage.

It's about 2-3 years old. I have a sample of it that came with a jar of ORS spomething or the other. I never used it though....

Let us know if you like it.

Let me know how this product works. I've seen it and been tempted, but I usually wait and see how someone else likes it first.

Looks like your the guinea pig for this product. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I used Suave Humectant Conditioner a while back and felt it was drying my hair. Then, i read the ingredients and discovered it had ALS in it or something. Before you use it, make sure it has no drying ingredients. I threw mine out.
