Thanks ngaa, I have been growing it since Nov 1999. And I'm sure you will have no problems reaching this length. Good luck to you and happy hair growing
smile.gif

Faith,
You've got great hair. I know how you feel about your growth issues. My family always tells me there is a limit to hair growth. My hair is slow growing! But hopefully it will get to your length. I have about 4 inches to go!

thanks faith but i keep measurin my hair length and it dotn seem to be growin as much as i want it to!!

Faith: You have done your homework and your work: I think your hair is lovely. Being natural, it will not hang and separate in the same manner as relaxed hair, but it sure carries a beautiful crinkly that is absolutely unique and stunning. And it will continue to grow if you be a good girl; no more "bad hair practices."

: I am just kidding. Let me think how many times I have done things that are detrimental and counterproductive.

Bonjour.

Faith...

What are you talking about!!?? Your hair is very thick and has grown! I just read that you started with 1/2" 3 years ago!!?? You need to take a bow and cut it out!!
laugh.gif
That's a lot of growth! I know greed can become overwhelming but we have to FIGHT THAT OLD MONSTER
whip.gif
and keep him in check. You're doing GREAT!
cool.gif

I agree with Emmi that you're probably forgetting that natural and relaxed hair lay very differtly. I'm sure that if you relaxed your hair, you'd see maybe another 2 inches!!! Always measure apples to apples.
smile.gif

Congrats on your progress!

Thanks Melodee
smile.gif
I'm sure it will get to this length too. You know what I noticed most people that complain about slow growing hair are 4a/b heads. I wonder why that is? HMMMMMM
smile.gif

Thanks Mahalialee. You know I do expect it to lay the same as a relaxed head and when it doesn't I'm disappointed. I guess I just have to accept that it will never act like a relaxed head even when pressed or flatironed.

I guess I have accomplished something. When I cut it off I remember thinking "oh, my goodness my hair will never grow back. What have I done?". I know crazy eh?
laugh.gif
Thanks for putting it into perspective. You ladies are the best..
wink.gif

Faith,

You're hair is beautiful. Don't be discouraged. When you examine things closely sometimes time can stand still. You have had progress that's for sure. You'll reach your goals - don't fret.

Hey girl!
wave.gif
Let me take you back down memory lane for a bit, "cuz you know that I know ya like that"
laugh.gif
. I'm only going to give you bits and pieces to jar that good ole' memory of yours. Relaxer, your family's reaction, set-backs, your family's reaction, snip snip, your family's happy reaction, natural, your family's reaction...ROFLMAO!!!
rofl.gif
I said all of that to say all of this. You have done a tremendous job with your hair girl and you know that I have your back and am in your
weird.gif
section. Your hair looks marvelous. It's very thick, long, and healthy. You have had long hair from both extremes...relaxed and natural and my hat is off to you. Much love from your friend Pink who is always "IM OUT"
laugh.gif

Faith, I just saw your pix, and your hair looks absolutely incredible!!
smile.gif
And you grew it out from what length three years ago?!! To that I say
notworthy.gif

You have truly grown a thick beautiful head of hair, and it's quite an accomplishment. You should feel so proud of yourself!! Did you grow it out to that length using braids? Or was your hair always that length and you suffered some setback that caused breakage?

Good growin' out, girl!!
laugh.gif

I saw you pictures and I think your hair is very nice. Not to discourage you, but maybe your hair is at a resting stage...however, I'm sure that if you continue your regimine, it will continue to grow. It has to grow!
smile.gif

Okay--Yay, I got to see! I agree with everyone. Your hair does look good and you've still got some great length despite the setbacks that you mentioned

Hi Kitkat,

Thanks
smile.gif
I grew it out from my "chop" using braids primarily. I did weave one time last year and I interlock sometimes. But it's usually braids that I do myself (I'm back to braids again for now).
smile.gif

Faith,

I don't know what you're talking about, but your hair is gorgeous!!!

Faith your hair is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing
smile.gif

Legs I gotta say your avatar is something else girl!

Thanks Seamist

Thanks Legs
smile.gif
. Are you still straightening yours in July? I wouldn't be joining you anymore for our "date". I don't get back into town till 2 week of August and I may get my hair done there so I wouldn't be taking it out till my 4 year natural hair anniversary in November. I still expect to see pics from you though
wink.gif

Faith,

Lately I have been so disgusted with my journey to grow my hair. As I mentioned in a previous post when I got my hair braided at a different salon this time the owner kept repeating,"Your hair is not full, your hair is not full". I am aware my hair is not thick, but her remarks really stung. When I left she said,"Your hair was very difficult to braid". I asked why and she replied,"Because it's not full". Honestly, she really rained on my parade because I thought I was making progress. She made me feel like I was bald-headed. Meanwhile, there were ladies in there with 2 inches of badly damaged hair. I've been trying to convince myself she was telling me that as an excuse for why I was in there for 12 hours, not counting the 4 hours I waited to get my hair done. So since her remark I haven't been so hair enthused. In fact, I visit the boards occasionally lately. I know I shouldn't take it personally, but guess what....I did. Anyway, because of this I don't think I'll be taking out my braids anytime soon and I'll hide behind them a little while longer with my not so full hair.
frown.gif

Faith, I can definately see the difference in your hair since the last photos. You hair looks stronger and fuller and I can see that it has grown. Keep up the good work-you are an inspiration to us all.

Keylargo:
Thank-you
smile.gif

{{Legs}} :
Don't let her get you down. I agree that she mostly likely said that to take away from the fact that you had to sit there for hours. How can your hair not being full make it harder to braid? Wouldn't it be easier then? Less hair to deal with? What did the other braider say about your hair? Why don't you consider taking a pic and show it to someone you're comfortable with and let them give you an honest opinion?
