Yea!!. I've HEARD about it, I've RESEARCHED it, I've WANTED it, and now I've DONE it!!
First of all, I'm 12 weeks stretched on maybe 20% texlaxed (I left it on for about 7 minutes. IDK maybe that's 50% but that's another thread), the point is when I wash it, sweat or think about water, it shrinks up and is kinky and dry w/o product. I have always wanted to try it (wet set), but I never really believed I would end up with something that would not be a dry, frizzy, tangled mess. Today, I stepped out on faith and woah at the results!
(the funny thing is I had to do it in sections b/c I only had 8 rollers.:giggle: Good thing I'm on vacay)
Thanks to all the advice and info here on LHCF, I gave it a try after I took out my summer (individuals) braids. My goal was to be able to get a decent bun with no heat. Well, I got more than that! I ended up with soft, swinging, and relatively straight looking hair!
I may never use heat on my hair again!!
Thanks LHCF!!!

Dang Girl!

That is amazing for your first time. I guess you can already start giving me tips!!! I really can't wait to see your results once you've really mastered it:grin::grin:

Looking good!
My first one was a mess!! And it took me like 2.5 hours... and another 8 months to start doing it again... you are ahead of the game.
You can always wrap it with saran or put a baggy over it and wrap it with your scarf to get a smoother look.

Your hair is beautiful in your pinkistrips. How long did it take you to go from neck to nearly apl? Great progress!

Thanks! It took about two years (with lots of trims along the way). I'm on a personal "no-trimming challenge" until November, so hopefully I can finally push past APL!

Thanks ladies. I guess the word of the day is thick. And it's no joke (I just had to do day two of getting out the shed hairs at the roots from one month's braids).
What can I do to minimize hairs caught up in the new growth? I'm trying to do a twenty week stretch and the NG is harsh (esp. since the top and front are relaxed from my last weave:wallbash:. I appreciate your input it makes me feel like I'm on the right track.
