But you're right, allowing my hair to shrink up is easy but I have to pay for it later if I do it too many days in a row. Did you say you sectioned it once it was dry? You should have wet it again, that always makes it way easier for me.

Oh, no - no- no I'm not that crazy... Yes I wet it again before sectioning it. And added conditioner too. That is the only way to do it. I have learned many things from all of you lovely ladies and one of the most important lessons was "DO NOT MANIPULATE or COMB Natural 4aB hair DRY."

Ya'll taught me and I listened. The only time I handle it dry is if it's been blown dry & or straightened.

The Yikes was mostly about the shrinkage.
It really speaks to the common misconception that black women can't have long hair. Whateva....It's long, it's just disguised as short hair.

Shrinkage is deceiving.

Your hair is thick and beautiful, Mook. The hassles you talk about are why I don't do WNGs. That'd just be asking for trouble. My afro must be dry and previously stretched in plaits and then combed out to ensure strands remain detangled.
