Ok ok ok...my question is about Co Washing and before you all tell me to do a search just hear me out :lachen:

for starters, I've done searches on the board and I still don't have the answer to my question. I even feel dumb asking this question...LOL!

How do you co wash??? I mean seriously I need a step by step guid or something.

I do them myself, but idk if I'm doing them right. I wet my hair, start to condition with HE and than rinse it out...here's where I get confused am I supposed to follow up with another conditoner or just apply a leave in?????

I normaly condition with a cheapie, follow up with another conditioner and than apply leave in. That's what I thought you were supposed to do, until I did a google search on the web and read that you apply conditioner and follow up with a leave in and than style.

So how do you ladies co wash???

You're doing it right. The concept is to just use conditioner as you would a shampoo. Using another conditioner IMO is redundant and the leave-in is your prerogative (even though I always use some type of leave in regardless of how I wash my hair). Other than just using some form of conditioner to actually wash your hair there are no other rules. HTH

Co washing is the actual process of washing your hair with conditioner as opposed to shampoo.

Applying your leave ins etc will part of your normal regimen.

Sounds like you are co washing!

HTH

You are doing it right except most people use the cheap conditioner as co-wash (shampoo one)! This is my ste-by-step as a person with natural hair:

1.) Co-wash with cheap conditioner then rinse with cold water.
2.) Apply another conditioner and detangle hair with paddle brush
3.) Once detangled clip hair and clean the rest of me
4.) Rinse conditioner out and part hair in two
5.) Take palmful size of the conditioner I just washed out and apply to one section of hair and comb thru with denman brush and twist that section.
6.) Same as step 5 but for the other side
7.) Get out shower and style hair with Curls Souffle

I don't have an actual Leave-in that I am using. I am in search of one and thinking about trying Giovanni's. So I just use my conditioner. HTH!

Do a search!:angry2:

:giggle:

You don't need a step by step guide or anything. Everybody's regimen is different so there's no specific way to cowash. What you're doing sounds okay.I usually use Suave Humectant to cowash and follow with a Deep conditioner (this may or may not be necessary but that's what I do). I don't use a leave in condish. I use Worlds of Curls moisturizer and seal with Castor oil.

:hug3: There are no silly questions!

I simply wash with a conditioner as if I were shampooing, and then apply a leave-in conditioner as I always do as part of my washing routine. Sometimes I follow up with a deep conditioning treatment. That's it!

No need to fill silly :-)
I hated cowashing when I tried it out over a year ago, but I love it now.
People have different cowash methods...

My methods include:
1. Prepoo with oils overnight. Next morning in the shower, wet and rinse hair, apply a generous amount of cheapie con to my hair and massage through length of hair... leave in for a few minutes and rinse out. cowash one more time.
OR
2. Apply conditioner to dry hair (either DC for at least an hour or use aphogee 2 min reconstructor for a few minutes, then cowash out with a cheapie con as above. Cowash once more time.
OR
3. Just get in the shower, wet hair, saturate hair with cheapie con and massage through hair, leave in for a few minutes and cowash again.

I cowash again cos I like to, no other reason why... I DC 2ce a week so on some cowash days, I DC on other days, I don't.

I am transitioning right now, so I make sure I rub the conditioner into my new growth, I love it!
I always use a leave in conditioner, once I didn't have my leave in con with me and lightly applied a little of my cheapie con as a leave in, it worked fine. So now I know once in a while, I can lightly rinse out my cowash con and leave a little in my hair ... 90% of the time, I detangle my hair with the leave in con in, I use my fingers to detangle my hair while saturated in cheapie con in the shower.

HTH.

You're not doing anything wrong. Ask 100 people how they co wash and you'll get 100 answers  I co wash in the shower. Here are the steps:
Wet hair
Apply Conditioner
Finish showering (takes about 20 mins)
Rinse out conditioner
Get out of shower
Apply leave-ins
Bun
The end

How I cowash:

I apply vatika frosting or some other coconut-based oil to my hair about an hour before my wash, exercise with it on, then proceed to my cowash.

I rinse well with hot water, apply the conditioner on my scalp and new growth, rinse it out, then apply it on my length and ends. At this point, I put on a plastic cap, proceed with my shower (I think the steam from my shower and time helpss the conditioner soak in a little better), then after showering, I rinse and comb out.

Afterwards, I towel-blot (with my microfiber towel), then apply leave-in and serum.

HTH
