My coworker is from Argentina, her look is interesting blue eyes fair skin but her hair is a coarse like texture maybe a 3a of 3b. She blowdries the crap out of it and the ends look so damaged, I cringe every morning at that hair.

I want to give her hair advice so badly but I don't want her to get offended in any way. I'm almost certain her hair is a big curly fro when wet. Today she told me she paid over a $100 for ovation therapy and though her hair looks slightly shinier it still looks damaged. I wanted to tell her to check out some carols daughter or kinky curly or something but she may think because she's not black she won't use those thing. Truth is that when i met her she looked half black and white to me mainly due to the hair. Should I recommend the products to her? Her hair has so much potential but she's not treating it right.

It's probably not a curly fro, it's fro-ish cuz of the dryness. Since she shared her Ovation session with you, introduce her to curly hair products. I'm sure she'll be happy you saved her money and got her better looking hair. What a shame!!! Non-Blacks use all kinds of products and those with "ethnic" hair love AA products. I know a lady from Syria with 2b hair...and she uses Palmers and was asking me where to get here in the States. Tell her!!!

naturallycurly.com has a lot of great information for and from curly girls of every color. That might be a place to recommend to her as a resource. The forum has lots of interesting stories from women who have been struggling with their curls and used techniques and products to turn their situation around.

I think if she told you that she paid $100 for oviatuon therapy then she opened the door for a hair discussion. Ask her if she likes the results. Then say "you know what one of my hobbies is hair care. If you want I can recommend some items and we can do trial and error until we find the right combo for you. This will be so fun! Blah blah blah". Hit up a Sally's Beauty Supply and get a couple in individual deep conditioner packets. And start there.

Yeah - I was second the naturallycurly site. They used to go hard for curls but now they also provide a lot of information to folks who want to straighten curly hair.

You could always direct her to the LHC, then from there she could find the curly and wurly threads. :D

Alright I direct to naturally curly site. I really don't know what products would work for her honestly. Thx ladies

Seems to me that she just needs to start moisturizing her hair and lay off the heat.

But yes, a curly hair, hair forum would probably do her well. It seems she has fallen into the trap that many women (of all races) have fallen into....and that is the thought that having straight styles is the only acceptable form of wearing the hair.

If you're really close (eat lunch together, talk outside of work, etc) then I don't think she'll take offense to good advice. However, if you're not really friends, I would just leave it until hair comes up casually in conversation :yep:

Definitely naturally curly. Dryness can also can make curls look a lot coarser and kinker then what they really. And there's lots of information over there. I am 3c/4a and find a lot if useful information there for myself.
