i have used on human hair lace fronts and it made the hair more coarse, which I think is a sign of damage. after that, i was too afraid to use it on the hair growing out of my scalp

thank you so much. i will just dye it again and treat it with tlc. it didnt have ammonia i it but i will recolor with amonia this time:grin:

Do not try color to remove color with more color. Search this site or go in for a color correction consultation but your idea sounds like a recipie for breakage.

When you color hair that has not been colored before sometimes it is best to apply the color to the ends and then the roots last. Heat makes color develop faster, so it is possible that the heat from your head made the root area process faster.

Is your hair natural or relaxed? (I notice your hair in your sig and avatar looks natural, but I didn't want to make assumptions). I've used color oops once, but it was on natural hair. Coincidentally, it was also after dying my hair midnight black with natural instincts. Let me tell you, amonia or no, it will not lighten with regular dye. Midnight black may as well be labeled permanent, because that stuff is stubborn. If you want to change the color, you'll have to remove the midnight black with something like color oops and then redye it. If you have relaxed hair, I wouldn't suggest it. Even on natural hair, you have to condition the crap out of it hair to keep it from breaking off. It's not the most gentle process.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't know all of this in high school when after prom (thank goodness) I tried to go blonde and had white roots with black hair. I looked like a skunk.

yes midnight black is the debil
then it says in small print. if your color is darker than your natural hair color it may take longer for the color to fade:rolleyes:i might as well do the bc

arent you lucky i need a perm now and color does not take my roots when natural so at least you got that part
