It's true. The sulphur is supposed to treat Eczema...

I actually bought the MTG because I have nummular Eczema (open weeping blisters, etc.) ... it comes in patches at different times of the year...

This year, it's my feet, the backs of my knees and the back of my neck... because of whatever conditioners i've been using..
I've been to countless dermatologists, and I have creams enough to make my own pharmacy...

But reading the MTG bottle, it said that it's able to heal skin infections on horses including those like eczema... i read it on the website... i think it was horse dermatitis...

Now, i have the most sensitive skin in the world, but what i'm doing is i'm Putting the MTG on my scalp only, and not letting it drip down...

Then I put my normal day's products in my hair, since i do a wash and go everyday...

I'm finding by doing this, I don't get the MTG drippies, and it's not stinky at all either.

Oh yea. and the MTG hasn't made that much of a difference on my eczema patches... I tested it out... (oh well.. going to the pharmacy to refil my cream prescriptions...)

The result was extremely dry peeling skin on my neck, ears and shoulders. I also experienced a burning or shall I say extremely hot feeling on my upper body when I relaxed. This happened even though I stopped using MTG a week before I relaxed. Well after that I decided to cut back on MTG I now use it once a week like the bottle's instructions. My skin is back to normal and I'm happy with the results I'm getting not as much as when I was using it more but I'm grateful


Oh ladies Johnson's Aloe Vera & Vitamin E Baby Oil Gel heal my dry skin I tried everything from vasaline to jojoba oil and find this to work the best. HTH

I noticed some discoloration around the top of my ear. Now I always wear a headband and have had not problems. IMO, this is like any products. Some people have a reaction while other people do not. If I had a reaction, I would stop using it.

Did u mix the Mtg with another product? I use it every day and have no harsh reactions. I just put it on my hair, not scalp. Also, why not use a clarifying conditioner as a leave in. I do this 2X a month, just to be sure there is no build up. I'm a daily washer, so maybe my regime won't work for you. Hope all goes well....

That's what it is !!!!!! Maybe that's why I don't get irritation!!! I only apply it once per week, maybe 2, but never more than that if at all. I guess they were right on the bottle when it said using more than recommended would cause an adverse reaction. So I guess just using it once a week should minimize the irritations.

its a double edged sword:
sulphur will HEAL messed up skin but IRRITATE normal skin.
gotta be careful.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing earlier when I saw this post, but I didn't have time to respond. I only had problems (same peeling, scaling, itching on my ears and neck) when I started using it more than twice a week. I stopped and went back to once a week as well. All that other mess stopped too.

I agree with the other ladies Blossssom, only use it as directed because I had some dryness on the back of my neck when using it every day. Also, I've learned to just apply it with my fingers, rubbing it in my scalp like a massage, because using an applicator bottle didn't work for me either.

this post came just in time...blosssom i am there and was feeling like when my skin was peeling. Right away I knew what it was and I was immediately disheartened because my hair grew 1 1/2 in a month!

I was saturating my hair in it w/o mixing it and sleeping with it, waking up and going the next 3-4 days with it in my hair. I have excema (it's mild) and my skin is sensitive. I felt like my scalp was tight and when i turned my head my skin was so tight, it felt like I had crazy glue on my scalp and neck/ears. I lathered up in cocoa butter. lol i was so confused and pissed i just kept envisioning horses like 'damn that MTG'

So I am off it for awhile until the peeling clears up, it's getting better. But after that I am going to apply it with my fingers and NOT let it drip and just put/keep it in for one day at a time. But the growth...yowzahs!! I have to try an alternative before i give it up.

it seems the key is not to saturate it/ use it1-2 x a week...point taken.

I am still itching and still burning. I'm using it in the color applicator bottle, and it's not even DRIPPING anymore, but I continue to suffer.

The skin on my shoulders and upper back appears that of a white person who spent 20 years in the sun with no SPF! That's how dried out I am!

I've had it! No wonder this stuff is for horses, just like HAY!

Do I understand correctly that you are putting it on your scalp and hair and then letting it drip down on to your shoulders and upper back and that you wear your hair down when you have MTG on and let your Mtgd hair rest on your skin? I would never allow sulphur product on my neck and skin. I keep it up when I am using anything with sulphur in it. Perhaps, protective styling or clothes with colors or a silk scarf on the neck would help. bonjour
