I Don't Know About HairOne

So I bought 3 packs of Hairone from Sally's. I used the one for dry hair and curly hair. My hair was extremely soft. I could barely use it. I don't know if it has some type of mint in it or something, but my scalp was burning like I scratch my scalp and got a relaxer burning.

I thought this was a fluke so I tried the one for colored hair a few days later and it started as a tingle and then it was burning so bad I had to wash it out and put on a different conditioner. I like the softness of my hair after, but I can't stand that burn. Has anyone had a similar reaction? I know usually minty type products cause my scalp to burn.:nono:

Is it the menthol in it causing the burn? Last time I used it was last year so I don't remember. But I didn't like Hair One at all. But that's just me.

I got a tingle I wasn't thrilled about but I did follow the instructions and leave it on. If I had I can only imagine.

I have no clue what's in the Hair One, but I know its supposed to be a knock off of Wen, and (almost) all of their cleansers have menthol in them, so I would not be at all surprised if it was in the Hair One.

I have a slight cool feeling on my scalp but never a burning feeling. Maybe you are allergic to something in it if products containing menthol has never given you any problems in the past.

I love Hair One.

I also used hair one for over a year and got a slight coolign sensation, never burned. I agree with Poopiedo maybe your allergic to something in the Hair one.

I like Hair One Olive Oil :) :yep:

I am now a Wen User

It took me 15 months (yeah I'm slow!) to realize I was allergic to Hair One Olive Oil. I loved how soft my hair was too, but I ignored 1) the trail of tender skin behind my ear where it had run down 2) the itching 3) finally the crazy tangling and hair loss.

I'm relaxed, and after a new relaxer the lightbulb came on!. I'd move on were I you. I still have 4 bottles that I'm using for shaving!

Plus some of their packets have a different ing list than the bottles. I read and re-read over and over to be sure.
Why would they do that??

tenderheaded I never put it together, but my scalp and ears were itching so bad. I almost mad a thread about it. That was why I ended up washing again days later. Maybe I am allergic to something in it, but the one for dry hair had my hair feeling so soft. The one for colored hair burned more than the one for dry hair, but I have less itching.

The itching was driving me crazy. I have one more pack. It's for curly hair. I'm going to give it a try and then I will probably leave it alone.

I do think that some of these products contain some serious allergens.... And there is a risk to using them... I am terribly allergic to a couple of condtioners.....one left red splotches all over my head and neck!!!! I was terrified.... But it was time to toss it - no matter how soft my hair was!!!!

You can also take it back if your going to to Sally's anyway. Yet, I understand one pack isn't worth the trip. If your going to make a trip there. Just tell them, I can't use this, bought 3 packs and the first gave me a rash.

Really,? That isn't smart at all. Do you think I am not going to be upset if I buy the big bottle and the results aren't the same.
Same thing they said happened with the ORS K-Pac

leona2025 take it back for sure. and Your hair iS AWESOME don't use anything to mess that glorious head of hair up.

So now that I have outted my :lick: whats your regimen LOL

if its an allergic reaction, subsequent exposure can result in a more severe reaction.....I know you already stated you'll return it, I am just writing this so anyone reading takes this into consideration. Its better to let go of the product if you have the slightest suspicion of allergic reaction.

if you really like it in your hair I have a suggestion... Use it only on the length of your hair as a conditioner or leave in after cleansing your scalp with something that doesn't bother your scalp.

I'm glad you washed again after the irching. I don't know what I chalked it up to, but I kept going. It will only get worst, and I had an unnecessary setback.

You'd think after all these years I'd know better!

JJamiah My reggie is pretty simple. I wash maybe once or twice a week and follow with either a protein conditioner or a moisturizing conditioner. I rotate. Lately due to sheer laziness I haven't been flat ironing at all and I thing that has contributed to healthier hair. I airdry 100% of the time and then I either do a bun or dry flexi set.

I used to enjoy the cooling sensation it never burned though sounds like you have a sensitive scalp. I used to swear by the Olive Oil one I may upgrade to Wen next.
