I started obssessing over the length of my hair. I kept measuring over and over. So finally I just broke my ruler into pieces and threw it away.

but what am I going to do when I need to measure something eles??

I have to buy another one. I feel so dumb right now.

I'm close to the length that I really want... I should be there by the end of the year or at the most at the beginning of next year. I just want it to go faster!

It's like stepping on the scale all the time when you're losing weight...don't do it, you'll disappoint yourself.

Awww, don't feel bad. You were just acting on instinct. If you really feel you'll have a need for it, buy another ruler and stick it way back in a drawer somewhere where you won't be tempted to reach for it. When you are ready to measure your hair again, it may be best to get a tape measure because they are much longer and more flexible than a ruler.

I threw my tape measure away a few weeks before... beacause of the same reason. That's why I was using the ruler.

Maybe if you give yourself three or four months before you measure again, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much length you've gained.

this is why im glad my blowdryer broke on me, if not i would be constantly blowing out my hair (that is the only way for me to see the true length of my hair)

That's what I'm gonna do if I can help it... wait all the way until September to measure. I'm worried that the repeated measuring will make me get stressed out and make my growth slow down. lol

September is so far away though!

I made a vow tonite to never measure my hair again! There is no point. I obviously don't know how to measure b/c one month, it seems like my hair has grown and another month, my hair is shorter than the prior measurement.

I figure, what's the point? I *know* my hair is growing by the different ways I am forced to style it. I *know* it's not splitting and breaking off. I am just bad at measuring so why bother when it just makes me feel bad.
