And it looks awful! At least it is even. Sorry about the black and white. My camera just comes out that way now.

Your hair looks gorgeous. It looks thick (and even--good job). I could never get that thickness and length when I had a relaxer. I have what you have now, only after years of growing out the relaxer. But if I thought I could keep my hair from breaking, I'd relax in a minute. Your hair looks great!

You think so? I think it still looks bad. It is even but it is short first of all and not shiny at all. It is only thick because it frizzed up after I air dried it. I wet it to trim it so I trimmed off more than I thought I did. My hair was too frizzy to trim dry. It still is. This is the before picture though. I will be posting another picture after three months of braids. I am also making a hair journal but I can't find any pictures that don't show a clear shot of my face ( I don't want to post my face on the internet because I don't want one of my coworkers to see it). But if you think it looks good then thank you.

It certainly doesn't look awful to me! On the contrary, it's nice and even and thick. I can just imagine how good it would look after a rollerset, or a nice, sleek wrap. You mentioned that you were going to trim it yourself. What method did you use? Whatever you did, it worked!

Dang girl! Your hair is thick. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You did a good job with the trim! No more sad face, okay?

Do you all really think my hair looks GOOD? It looks thick only because it air dried into a big frizz ball. This is actually pretty mild. It does get bigger. I followed the instructions on the longhairlover's site to trim my hair. It is still uneven though but not as much. I should've taken a before trim picture but I didn't think to do it. Thank you again.

P.S. I also have about an inch of new growth.

Can you see it in my profile? You have to check off in My Home that you want to be able to view pictures. The default is set at no.

I couldn't see it on AOL either. I am looking on Internet Explorer and I see me now.

I finally saw it! /images/graemlins/grin.gif. You did a good job and your hair is really thick. Once you keep doing it and get used to your own head, you will never want anyone else to cut your hair again /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I only see a big "x" and the link doesn't take me to a picture page. (My Profile is set up properly to see photos.)

Why can't I se them? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

your hair looks great (and even), honeyrockette!

even better, now that you know for yourself that you can trim your own hair, you will never have to woory about someone cutting too much. before i found someone i could trust, i would trim my own hair. it may not have been perfect, but one things for sure... i NEVER cut my own hair shorter than i intended!!! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

WOW, HoneyRockette, your hair looks great!! It's so thick! And I think it looks perfectly even. Good job!

HoneyRockett, your hair look great. /images/graemlins/grin.gif You did a great job with trimming your own hair. It looks really thick and even. Boy, if I tried to trim my own hair it would look like a weed wacker got to it. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I know this is the wrong thread for it but I have a confession to make. Only ONE side is perfectly even and that is the side I took the picture on. The other side is kind of slanted forward. I am afraid to even it out because that side is already shorter than the side I took the pictue on. It isn't that bad but I feel guilty when everyone compliments me on what a good job I did. I attribute half of my "good job" to the super sharp shears I used. It could slice a feather in two perfect halves in mid air! But you are right Adrienne, at least I did do it myself. It isn't perfect but heck, at least I know I CAN do it. My next venture: putting braids into my own hair! That one may take a while. Stay tuned! Thank you all again.

HoneyRockette you hair looks just like mine airdried.
Your hair is thick and gorgeous. Don't worry about the slight mishap. WOuld you rather blame yourself or some stylist?

You know if a stylist messed up one side the side you showed us would be shorter in her efforts to even it up.

You'll be trimming with your eyes closed soon enough.

London, my hair is air dried in the picture. It is longer when it is straight but I'd rather have short thick hair than long flat hair at this point. You are right about the stylist thing. If a stylist did to my hair what I did to my hair I would cry and complain and call it jacked up and demand some money back. Because I did it myself I can say I actually did a good job. Not many people can trim their own hair PERIOD!

Supergirl, my hair is relaxed, and very frizzy in that picture. I should post a straightened picture of my hair so you all can see the difference between my frizzy air dried hair and sleek straightened hair but that would involve using heat and I swore off heat a few weeks ago as part of my hair regimen. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thank you for the compliments!

I can't see the pic /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I can't believe I missed this post. In light of all the "trimming" mishaps congratulations on a succesful self trim!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Okay! I thought about trimming mine in the shower, but I'm too scared! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes, I think it looks great. I don't even want to think about how mine would look if I attempted it.

You done good child...
