I did it all by myself...............

Awesome job with the self trim, chica. You've inspired me to learn how to do my own trims too. Thanks for that.

I just did this same thing yesterday. I went from bsl to 2 inches above bsl. My hair looks 1,000 times better. I got rid of the blunt cut and opted for a nice U shape. I am hoping to be back at bsl by May 2008.

Congrats on your new start! Let's grow back together! :yep:

Oh wow....your hair is gorgeous. One more hair idol to add to the list! I did the same thing back in May....I cut 6 inches of thin, raggedy hair and it made a world of difference. The great part is it's almost grown back and it's thicker and healthier than ever before.:yep:

After Sareca's Thread Post your end of year progress pics, I realized that my hair is long, but not as healthy or thick as 2006. The last 3 or 4 inches were so thin I could see right through them. Since they were thin and not split I was going to just dust a little at a time until it was all thick again. After seeing those pictures I decided to just go ahead and cut them off. I have never trimmed my own hair, so I'm proud of myself !! I went from midback to barely brushing brastrap in less than 10 minutes. I took off anything I could see through. I'm very happy with how it turned out and I'm going to baby my ends from now on. I'm sure with all the great information and the wonderful ladies on LHCF 2008 will bring great things for me and my hair. I joined the 2008 bootcamp so no more cutting until 2009 only dusting, I get to start out with healthy, thick ends. Sorry for the rambling, I just LOVE this site it's so empowering!! HHG ladies!

I did the same thing in October. I had awful layers that gave the illusion of see through ends, so cut off 5 inches of hair to make it "even". I miss having long hair, but at least my hair is thick and one length.

Thank so much for the great comments ladies! I really love it, I had to make myself bun it up yesterday so I could stop playing in it. I usually keep my hair bunned, in a braidout, or a rollerset just to hide the ends, but now I can wear my hair straight with no problems. I'm beyond ecstatic !! HHG ladies!!

Thanks, NAKISH66. When (or if) my hair reaches waist length, I'll give myself the U-shaped cut.

Before I saw the pics, I was like . BUT your hair looks much thicker now & you don't appear to have lost much length either. Now you have some fresh ends for the new year!

Great trim:yep:..It's weird how snipping off those see through ends makes your hair look thicker and healthier. Crazy how we hang on to those anorexic ends just for that little bit of extra length. Good Job. HHG

So true, I was holding on for dear life too !! Now that it's cut, I'm like why didn't I do this sooner. Oh well, we live and learn right..............
Thank you and HHG to you!!
