Ok ya'll I was bad. The length of my hair is under processed. It doesn't bother me because one I flat iron or rollerset or anthing it stays straight. Well I decided to go ahead and do a corrective anyway even though my hair has been like this for over a years and I like the texture when it airdries. I don't know what I was thinking.

I left it on for maybe 4 minutes. Well the result is the hair looks the same only now I have some breakage. Not a lot, but enough to notice since I wasn't having any before. I will do the Nexxus Emergence treatment this weekend. Why can't I ever leave my hair alone when it's doing good?:wallbash:

I am really sorry this happened to you!! Personally, I am not a big fan of corrective relaxers, because that is just too many chemical processes in such a short period of time; but that us jmho.

Be sure to do the Emergencee treatment and baby your hair with moisture and oil. Don't beat yourself up about it though...you live and you learn.

WOW... I never even heard of such a thing until I came to LHCF (this coming from the girl who used to relax every 3 weeks). Seems like you’ve got the right idea. Protein will definitely help! I’d be on a loose protective style & DC challenge until it cleared up.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this. With my hair, I noticed that some parts along the length were underprocessed. Over time the relaxer runoff from touchups "corrected" the underprocessed areas.

Please keep this in mind for the future. Be extra protective of the length of your hair with your next touch up. I always coat mine with lots of conditioner and then apply lots of vaseline. It really keeps the length/ends from being overprocessed.

Oh my goodness. I'm sorry, I was reading this post and forgot what it was all about when I saw a picture of the bag in your siggie and it's the TRUTH!! I'm a bagnista and I just LOVE it!! :yep:

But to the OP, sorry to hi-jack with my bag outburst. But I came in hoping you didn't get any damage from your corrective and I see that you did. I hope you can lesson the damage with the protein treatment.

Good luck!

Was it breakage you had or was it shedding? I read an except from Shamboosie's book about this and he says that when doing a corrective you should expect shedding. You just need to ensure you do lots of treatments for a number of weeks post relaxer.

My last relaxer was in May. So this time when I did my touch up I just applied to the length also to correct the parts that were not straight. This hair has not been straight for more than a year, lol, but suddenly I got the urge to fix it.

I can tell that it's breakage and it's not very much a few pieces, but ya'll know I watch it like a hawk. I had no breakage and just regular shedding before the relaxer.
