....two inches off my hair last night. So I'm back to brastrap:ohwell:. I posted a thread a week or so ago regarding thinning ends as my hair grows, I was gonna leave them alone as they were not split, but I can't stand my braid to be so skinny at the end. It literally stays on my mind. So I cut 2 inches. I had 3 inches 'til waist....now I have 5:ohwell:. I really could have gotten away with one, but 2 gave me nice fat full ends. It's still progress in that they were not as thick when I'd first reached brastrap. I think I've decided for myself that I am gonna trim a quarter inch every two months. This will allow me to keep my ends the way I prefer but still achieve growth. So when I get to waistlength (whenEVER that is) they will be fat and full. Just sharing. Trying to feel good about my decision. Sorry no pics, I'll take some next time I straighten.

You should feel good about your decision, you still have a wonderful length, one that a large percentage on this board are striving for, and it is full and thick! You should have no regrets! I will take blunt healthy bsl any day over scraggly wsl:yep:.

I definitely know what you mean. I think I'm going to have my mom cut my hair soon too.
It always grows in a V but my ends look really thin now and I don't like it. I've been wearing it up or in braidouts to avoid looking at it.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to do. If you can do it, that's great! I guess it was just driving me nuts! However, plenty have great success just sticking it out.

Well, from what I've been reading via online research, you may have done yourself a favor in a way. I read that the reason why ends are so thin as the hair grows long is that if you wear your hair out all of the time, the hair has a tendency to brush up against our clothes, car headrests, etc, thus resulting in thin ends. And as we all know, our ends, as well as our hair should be moisturized every day, or elect to wear your hair in a protective style to protect your ends. Since you have lengthy hair, I would probably wear my hair up most of the time to keep it from brushing against my clothes.

Here is a link below, which I think would address at least some of the issues with thin ends, how to properly shampoo long hair, etc. I think this would be helpful to some of the women in this thread. So far, it makes since to me, as I will adopt some of the hair care regimines listed. I hope this helps.

I also forgot to mention that the woman who created this website also has long hair as well and gives wonderful tips when you click on the "Treating Ends" section of the website.
