of my hair to see what my hair would look like if I BC'd today. I chose a piece in the front so that I could easily compare. I'm talkin right in the front. Like middle of my forehead front! I also chose this spot because it was the most damaged (breakage) and it was all short and stickin up anyways. The verdict? I am only 6 weeks post relaxer and only have half an inch of new growth. IDK if I am ready. But my hair is in such a state.....it might be worth it. My ends are so thin, and even when I used to curl it, it just wouldn't. I may stop by a hair dresser tomorrow and see if the can do it. I would but its so short already I want to make sure it's even.

If your relaxed ends are giving you grief and don't seem up for a transition, I say go for it! It will be a lot easier than trying to maintain two different textures.

A lot of women are surprised how cute they look with short hair. It probably won't be as bad as you fear. If your hair is splitting badly, those splits can travel to the root and mess up your growth for a long, long time. 1/2" in 6 weeks is good growth! If you cut 1/2" every month you'd hardly see the difference probably. And if you cut 1/8" every week with quality shears, you're likely to have fresher ends...
Good luck, whatever you decide! :-)
