I can\'t concentrate!!

There is a girl that sits in front of me in class and I cannot stop staring at the back of her hair. I looks awful, she has straw edges and a straight weave ponytail, to make thing worse, she put wrapped the weave around her ponytail and I can see the little bun peaking through the hair, she tied a little blue srunchie around the bun. The weave doesn't even look new, it looks like she's taken it out and put it back in over and over again. I can't believe it, she has a nice cell phone and clothes, what is stopping her from going out and buying another bag of hair? I don't know because i've never worn a weave, but i'd never go out like that. Also in another class, there is a girl who has the worst ends. She needs about a good inch cut off and she would be okay. I know you ladies have seen women like this, don't you just want to to go up to them and say something

Is this college? If so, perhaps these young ladies don't have the time to take care of their hair. Their priorities may be on their education rather than looking good.

Regarding the one with the bun that you could see, would you feel comfortable in telling her that you could see her bun? She may not be aware that others can see her "secret".

Yes, this is college, but at my campus, there is no housing. I am not close with this girl so I wouldn't feel comfortable telling her, but these girls talk all the time about going out to clubs, and seem to dress nicely, so I don't think hair should be the place where they slack off.

I can understand why you probably wouldn't say anything. Some folks are inclined to bite your head off for pointing out something like that.

My best friend is a diva when she chooses to dress up. 9 times out of 10 she is wearing headscarves, and sweat pants. Your classmates may look really good when the dress up. Maybe doing their hair on a daily basis is not #1 to them.

There was this girl that sit in front of me in one my classes and she had the worst see-through thin ends. It really distracted me! lol

Every now and then she'd get a trim, but they'd always be back since she used heat every day. Yet, she would still get compliments on her hair.

I think we may notice all of those details more because we are focusing so much on haircare - more than a lot of people are. We now have a wealth of knowledge and it's easier to see the mistakes of others. Instead of letting ourselves become distracted, we can either introduce ourselves and maybe get to know them well enough to offer a solution (if they ask for one) or practice focusing on something else.
