Some of you may or may not remember when I posted about purchasing my first ever wig about 3 months ago. Also, in that thread I disclosed my insecurities with wearing wigs and how would wear the wig to work, but too was too self conscious to wear one to church. Well, I made my second wig purchase today and I must say that I love it and could see myself rocking this wig at church. I have yet to wear the first one to church though. The one that I bought today is similar to the first but it's much straighter and resembles more of my real hair except that it is darker. This one is synthetic as well, but it looks more realistic and not as shiny as the first. I have incorporated wearing the first one in my regimen and have been wearing it during the week maybe once or twice a week. But, I don't wear it on Wednesdays when I have to go to Bible Study and if I wear it to work on Thursdays, I normally take it off before going to Praise Team Rehearsal. The one I bought today may get a few more wears throughout the week, that is how much I like this one. I'm trying to stretch about 5 more weeks, putting me at 17 weeks post relaxer and this wig could help me to do that. Well enough of the rambling, here are some pics.

Brand: Signature Uniquely Superior
Style: Rivera
Color: 2
Price: $29.95
Type: Synthetic

it looks gorgeous!! honestly i am the same way (selfconscious) Ive never had a sew-in, tracks, worn a wig or nothing. but I am really thinking about it so i wont have to do my hair and so i can stretch my relaxer a little longer. but I feel the same way, especially to wear one to work , it would be my first time ever and Im gonna be like "are they staring at my hair? " lol. i wanna try so bad though

That's beautiful ... and it looks very natural. I bought a wig a couple years ago when I hadn't had a relaxer for about a year and was considering transitioning. I was already self conscious about wearing it to school or some place like that, and then guy I was dating would give me a hard time about it, so I never really wore it that much :(. I still think I'm too self-conscious to wear a full wig, but I've been looking for a nice fall or quick weave lately. You're making me reconsider though, I love how natural your new wig looks!

LOL!!! Girl, I feel you! Thanks girl!!!

My LHCF sisters were the first people (aside from the people in BSS) to see me in a wig. When I bought the first one, I ran straight home and took some pictures to share. LHCF encouraged me to wear my wig to work.

The first day that I wore the first wig to work, I was shocked at how many people gave me compliments. So, girl go ahead and get your wig and rock it.

I've been watching American Idol this whole season and I love the wigs Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha wore. So, today I started looking around for wigs that were similar to some of the straight ones that I seen them wear on the show.

Thanks for the compliments!!!

Yes, girl wear your wig!!! Now, I'm almost to the point wear I'm not self-conscious anymore. I'm definitely not as self-conscious as I was 3 months ago.

Gal your wig lookin good!

It's a funny thing, wigs become addictive. This was some years back but it took me 6 months to muster up the courage to go to a BSS and try on a wig, after I got my first one I was at the BSS every week looking for a new one.

Thanks JCoily!!! Um, yes girl, this wig this is becoming addictive!!! They are so easy and so effective, especially when I don't feel like doing anything to my hair.

Those were wigs??? I guess that makes more sense than them being weaves, since they changed almost weekly, but I thought they just had it like that b/c they were on Idol. Please let us know if you find any wigs like that! I'll be looking too.

Girl, I don't even know! I just assumed they were since they changed from week to week. :lachen: Maybe the were lacefronts (which are way out of my budget). But, I will definitely keep an eye out for some and will keep you updated if I find any.

It looks good! I have one like it as well. You might be compelled to buy another. First, I purchased a curly one, then another, then a wrap style like yours, and lastly a short bob. I kind of got -ism!:D

Thanks girl!!! I think I'm going to get about two more that'll give me a total of four. I want a short one and a more curly/natural looking one.

i would say why are you hiding all that pretty hair w/ that wig
but being a faithful wig wearer i say ROCK THAT WIG!
BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHERE THE WIG LAYS ON YOUR HAIR
dont want any broken pieces

You are too sweet msportugal! Thank you so much for the compliment! Girl, sometimes my hair don't want to act right or hang right and those are the perfect times to slap on the wig and roll out! :lachen:

You are so right, I've been wondering what to about the edges. I wear a net wig cap underneath the wig and try to make sure that band around it is laying on my forehead instead of my edges. The only thing with that is I have to pull the wig down too far and then that messes up the whole look. Are there any sating wig caps or something out there? Or ventilated caps without elastic around the edges?

Wig wearers unite:grin:  I'm glad you're enjoying your wigs. I've worn them off and on for 15 years, especially when work got crazy! I've had so many people give me compliments that I rock it whenever I feel like it!!!

They can be like crack! I have been purchasing them for years now and I use to get them regularly like one every two months. I figured it was cheaper than going to a salon, especially when it really looked like my hair.

I call myself giving away all my wigs except a few. When I went to clean out my hair closet. YES I HAVE A HAIR CARE CLOSET! I found almost 10 wigs that I no longer wear. Some I had never used. I am trying to find a home for these now.

Hi my name is mscocoface and I am addicted to wigs
