I bought a Farouk CHI ceramic flat iron. But it does not have a temperature control. Are they suppose to come with temperature controls? I am a little leary of using it. Can anybody be of any help out there?

Some of the models don't. You should be able to check the specs of it to see what temp it reaches.

babes i suggest you switch it for one with a temp control, those things can get REAAALLL hot. its nice to have control

I second this forreal.

The original Chi's don't have temp control. It gets up to 410 degrees hot, or either 460, one of them. They now have the ones called "Chi Turbo" that have the temp control. But word around is, that those things are very prone to breaking. I think you should take your Chi back. So I would suggest buying one from a Chi manufacturer/distrubutor (NO EBAY!!!) where the warranty is valid from Chi.

I have one of the latest CHI's (Ultra CHI) (pic in my fotki unde Products)it's a tourmaline iron w/ no temp control. The newest models (NANO CHI) also have no temp control. Mine gets up to 360 degrees. I've had no problem w/ it burning/damaging my hair. I love mine!
