So I started GNC hair nourish vitamins a little over a month ago. I have read a lot about biotin on the forum and was looking for somthing to aid in growth. I got a bottle enough for a month. I only get 1/4 inch a month. I have been working on growing my hair since aug of 07 (when I first got deployed) and my hair is healthier and longer but not as long as you would think since it would be since it has been over a year.

Anyway, since I have been taking biotin I have experienced 1/2 inch of ng. I took pictures of my edges. Although that is not a good place for me to show growth because they usually take 2 months to show 1/4. I got the 1/4 for my edges in a month. The middle and front and back have 1/2 inch. I am really excited about this because I was kind of sad that to get APL it would have taken about 2 years. Now hopefully with the biotin I can get to APL by next spring. I will post pics whenever I can find the cord to hook my camera to the computer.

I'm so jealous of you.

I would love to start taking Biotin again, but I break out really bad...no matter how much water I drink. It did make my eyelashes REALLY REALLY long, though.
My eyelashes are constantly hitting my glasses. LOL.

Have you tried taking Vitamin C 1000mg with a low dose? It stops the breakouts for me when I up my dosage and gives my immune system a boost!:yep:

I slacked off on my Biotin for a couple of weeks and just started back taking it about a week ago. My nails are showing the results already and I am sure my hair is going to follow suit!!! I believe in Biotin too!

I've used Biotin for months now. I can't honestly say I've experienced much growth from it. I keep taking it though in case I get hit with a biotin growth spurt.

I take it as a part of a multi and I don't have any negative side effects - other than needed to shave my legs more often.

I started taking biotin about 2 weeks ago. I relaxed around the same time. Within a week I notice a little newgrowth. Already! I don't usually notice newgrowth til about 2 weeks after a relaxer. I take my biotin with my other vitamins, so I don't always remember that I'm taking them, taking vitamins is a routine for me. When I noticed the newgrowth I was amazed, until I remembered that I had been taking biotin.

That stuff works, and I don't drink more water than I did, and NO breakouts.

Yes, I believe too! I just started back on all of my vitamins and now three to four weeks after my relaxer and I'm starting to get a lot of new growth 5mg of biotin is one of the things I'm taking

I am a believer in biotin too. I have been taking it for years and I have not experienced any ill effects. My nails are long and grow back quickly if they are broken and my hair seems to grow quickly too. :)

i'm not sure if i can give biotin all the praise for my increased hair growth, but my HSN vitamins all together gave my hair an extra 'umph' of growth.:yay:

at first i thought it was my OCT, but when i slacked on my vitamins for a few weeks but continued with the OCT my growth spurt was on the decline. i went out to GNC to restock today:shopping:. i take GNC Women's Hair, Skin & Nails Program, MSM 2000mg, and Omega 3,6,9 x 3. this reggie gave me 1/2 inch of NG per month when i normally get 1/4!!

I believe in Biotin----------

I have been taking between 3,000 and 5,000 mcg of Biotin for years without any "side effects" In fact, I did not even know that Biotin had side effects until I read some of the posts that some of the Ladies were experiencing.

Never had a Problem using Biotin. I have been pleased with the results.

I've been back on my biotin and my msm since April 22nd. I just washed my hair, and my new growth feels lovely. I'm dcing and I plan to blow fro out for my update. I don't know I've I've received an increase in growth on the head, my brows and lashes are out of control. I experienced a mild breakout from the biotin this time around which is new for me...and I had a slight rash on my arms and hands from the msm, you couldn't see it but boy was it itchy. Anyhow, I'm out of the detox phase now.

I've never taken Biotin but the shampoo girl at the dom. salon told me it grew her nails and made her hair really thick.

I have acne prone skin, so I dont think I'll try it.

I find that if I take the extra Biotin with my multivitamin I do not break out. But if I don't, look out !

I think that taking the biotin along with some other supplements that I have been taking lately has really increased my growth rate tremendously.

I just startd taking GNC UltraNourish Hair and my newgrowth is coming in thicker and I'm getting a little more new growth than normal. I broke out in the beginning but it went away. I don't take it consistently though.

Im going to start back taking Biotin. I was looking back at my pics and notice when I was taking pills, my hair was growing like crazy. I stop taking them like almost 2 months ago and I haven't received the same growth. So I went to GNC and reup on GNC Hair, Skin, Nails pill and Biotin.

I know for a fact this combo make your hair super thick. So this will be a good time to check it out, cause Im almost done with OCT and not reordering and will start taking my vits tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong, I did get good growth with OCT. However I can push myself to order it again. The price is kind of high.

I also just went back to taking Biotin. My hair and nails were growing fast and I was only taking the 1000mg. The only reason I stopped was because I was sick of taking so many pills and supplements. Now that I'm not a walking pharmacy anymore, I can go back to having pretty nails and hair growth.

Biotin is making my nails grow so fast! I think I'm gonna have to have my acrylics taken off, I can barely keep up with them. I get a fill, and four days later my nails have grown almost halfway up my nail bed.

It's been like this since the very first week I started biotin, almost 3 months ago.

I love biotin...makes my hair grow a lot.. only problem is.. it makes ALL mah hair grow to fast...

Hopefully by taking my biotin my hair will grow. I am going to try the braiding challenge as well. I might though in a little Mega-Tek too.

I haven'thad any side effects and no extra hair except for what is growing rapidly out my head.I love biotin. I am notgoing to stop taking it. It has been about a 6 weeks now and I have 2 months worth of ng. I might even relax sooner. I know it isn't from anything else. I workout constantly and my hair has never grown this fast. I was living in georgia with warm weather constantly and it's never grown this fast. I started taking protein years ago and that never gave me more growth. I can't say it will work for everyone but it works great for me.

I've been taking biotin for almost a year now. I get relaxed every 8 weeks because there is always 2 inches of ng up there. Within a week of relaxing I feel ng trying to come up. My toe and fingernails which are slightly pigmented are now very white.
My eyelashes are long (my mom was like "why are your bottom lashes so long girl?").
My eyebrows are starting to look like catepillars,
I have to shave other places more often
and I grew a little bit of hair on my chin (3 hairs easy to pluck).

Despite all that these are a staple.
