I ordered my MTG saturday and I can't wait to get it. How long do you apply after a relaxer and how long do you STOP using it prior to a relaxer.

I usually start applying shortly after my relaxer, like in the next day or two. But I do try to stop a few days before getting a relaxer, just to make sure that it "takes", doesnt burn, and so forth.

Be careful with this stuff! Its very oily, so less really is more! Also, be certain to wipe up any dripping off your neck, as it can cause your neck to feel rough/irritated/get a rash.

HHG!!!!!!!!!

My edges have finally grown in and THICK at that! Anyone one else had the same result with their edges?
Yes, my edges are thicker and fuller too, and my sideburns have lengthen!!!Dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing yet. Still, MTG is off the Hook!

My edges are filling in, too! It looks a mess when i pull my hair back, but I'm sure i'll be appreciating the change once I get another relaxer later this month. I'm getting ~3/4" per month instead of my normal near 1/2". But I mostly like how it's growing in areas that usually have slower than .5"/ month growth (ie my edges and nape)!

I have been using MTG since Feb of this year and at first I didn't think to put it on my edges but I eventually did. And after a month my husband was staring at me and I was like "WHAT?" He said, "You got a hairline!" and I was like,"What you mean I got a hairline, you say that like I never had one" He says,"You did but you didn't and now you do, it makes you look a little different, I like it" I was like,"Oh, I can't tell the difference, but thanks"

So MTG is the bomb digity. I got my husband hooked on it too he want to grow some locs, he is so touchy when it comes to his hair and how it looks I hope he can stick with it. He done tried to grow them about 3 times before and ended up shaving his head bald each time, cause he noticed the people at his job and the customers would respond to him differently when he was bald and when he had a miniature fro.

Anyways I am a big MTG fan.

MTG is safe to use unless you are allergic to sulfur. This stuff has given my already thick hair uber thickness! It has also helped give it strength it never had before. My hair very rarely sheds and it has helped the nape of my hair keep growing w the rest of my hair. This one product made my relaxed hair go so fast, it made my head spin. No breakage either from my frequent relaxing either. That is why I love MTG. I am gonna try not to relax my hair so frequently when I do relax fully this year. Why press my luck, right?;)

you aint never lie cuz ive been having itchy neck since i started this mess
and it keeps dripping so i had to keep wiping it and put a towel around my neck
my hair is in cornrows and i dont see a difference yet but i hope i will be starting a thread of amazement myself soon :(

I am soooooo glad I stumbled onto this thread. I was driving myself nuts trying to figure out MTG. What da hizzell was everybody talking about? I'm going to do some research and more than likely purchase some cuz my think hairline has always been a challenge for me. I'd love to see it thick. It would be amazing.

Luv ya GIRLZ! This forum is addictive AND informative. I feel like I have a home! hehehe Wouldn't it be great if we could all get together and start a nationwide product line? I'd be more than happy to handle the Houston market. ;) We gotsta get blk folks in charge of blk hair products. You can never ask any of the Asian owners in my city about any product because as much as they wanna help, they couldn't possibly understand. Well, I could go into a totally different thread with that subject so moving in. lol

I purchased some of this a few years ago. I didn't think it did much for me so I threw it away (32oz. mind you!) I bought some more earlier this year and couldn't remember why I stopped using it until I stumbled onto this thread and applied some to the nape of my neck--it's the SMELL!! What do you all do about this when you apply it w/o diluting it?

The smell isn't that bad to me. To answer your question apply it at night b/c come morning the smell will be gone.

As for the smell, I tried mixing MTG with everything and my child kept telling me that my hair smelled like turkey bacon, LOL. But I was reading on another thread on this board, a member put her MTG in a bottle with Peppermint Oil and seriously it works. My students in summer school said my hair smelled like breath mints, better that than turkey bacon.

Sandalwood oil mixes very well with it too :)

I have been doing it 4 days now and so far I don't see anything extraordinary yet. I'm hoing when I take my cornrows out it'll have grown.

Remember to not itch then touch your silver/gold jewelry, it will tarnish.

That is the truth! LOL!

But still gotta love that MTG. Im staying with this until ive reached my ultimate goals!

Well, I still have not noticed phenomenal (sp?) growth. I'm still getting about .40"/month. So about 1" every 10-12 weeks. Hm!!

MTG thickened my hairline up the best out of everything I tried since joining here. I had to quit though because I couldn't handle all that oil, & I wash my hair everyday but it was still greasy :ohwell:

MJEFFERS2, how much pepermint oil did you use (proportion of pepermint to MTG)? My biggest concern is the smell as I do not want my husband to force me into the guest room due to MTG! I still have the bottle that I brought last year for that reason.....
