I am starting to believe the MTG hype because....

YES, YES, YES!!! I just retouched my hair and I've been using MTG for 2 weeks. My edges are much thicker and my hair grew and inch and 1/2! Of course I trimmed a 1/2 inch off but my hair is now past my collar bone. Yippee! I believe I will make bra strap by 2006. :) BTW, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you hair! :)

My edges have finally grown in and THICK at that! Anyone one else had the same result with their edges?

How long have you been using it on your edges?

Mane and Tail Groom. There are a variety of places to buy it but I brought mine from www.shapleys.com. You can also perform a search on MTG and you should get some good posts.

My edges were the first place that I noticed a difference. I started using it about a week after my last relaxer and I already have about an 1 1/2 of new growth. I usually only get 1/2 inch per month. It's so thick and nappy, I'm not sure if I can continue to use MTG if I plan on stretching my relaxers. Honestly, I've stopped using it as much because my hair has gotten so thick and now I've started wearing wigs to work.

You grow girl! I waited a minute before I purchased mine. I am realist about my hair but MTG is slowly but surely making me into a believer. So it must be doing something because I rarely initiate threads, especially about MTG.

I dabbed a little on my edges once about a week after relaxing just my edges (I am 11 weeks post everywhere else) and last night I noticed new growth already. I never get growth that fast.

Ok, I believe the hype now.

Thanks ladies! :)

So, what is MTG exactly?? Is it some kind of oil?? Some kind of treatment? I hear you all rave about this product all the time, and it's getting me curious! Especially since you talked about the hairline thickening up. I feel so in the dark though. I need the 4-1-1!

How often do you use it?

You're stretching relaxers to acquire more growth by the time you relax so if MTG is increasing your growth just go with a shorter touchup schedule.

Thanks dear! Yes, I do have a black rinse in my hair. I think my stylist uses Loreal Colorshines. In the beginning, I was using a different product on my hair every night but about six months ago I adopted a KISS regimen. I use the MTG 2-3 times a week, followed by a weekly condition wash with a light protein treatment. Dontspeakdefeat gave me good advice when she said to let the MTG saturate for a couple of days before you wash so this is what I do. When not using MTG, I use Sulfur 8. In the morning and at night, I spray my hair with distilled water to give it some extra moisture. Btw, I do the baggie method everyday over my entire head with a curl bag because I wear a fall and wrap a thin scarf around it(the combs in the fall were breaking my hairline out).

Yep, my edges are coming back and the bald spot has grown in too. It's not completely filled-in but it's so much better that it took me a while to find it. I'm pretty pleased with the stinky stuff.

I put it on every night. I rinse and reapply every other day. Oh, and I take it straight to da head (no diluting). :)

Okay..I have a question.. does this MTG really make your hair alot thicker? I really don't want my hair thicker.. I mean a little bit would be okay.. but not alot.. I like having fine hair.. so, does it make it alot thicker?

This stuff is really meant for horses right? So, is it safe for humans?? I want long thick flowing hair as much as the next chick, but animal products....I don't know....I'm a bit hesitant now after seeing that site. I don't think I saw one testimonial where a HUMAN used it on their own hair.

Sure it works great now, but what about weeks, months, and YEARS from now?? Will/can there be any potential side-effects??

I don't know if there will be side effects, I remember when that Straight Arrow Mane & Tail came out, I never heard about any, you either liked it or disliked it. What do you think some side effects could be?

About how long does it take for this stuff to come? I bought some yesterday and yall are making me sooooo ready to use it, I am like bout to die or so it feels like I am, from lack of patience. I want to use it everyday, twice a day, like I used to with Surge, do you think that will be too much? Is it oil or what, I haven't figured out the consistency.

MTG was originally created for humans to treat skin disorders. When the company was sold, they realized that the product was good for horses and decided to target that market. If you do a search you will find a letter written by the owner who said she has no prior record of side affects on humans or horses, other than allergic and in that case if you think you might be allergic, do a patch test.

Ooohhh okay. Thanks for this information. I guess I'll have to do more research. I was just getting scared because I didn't see anything on the website about human use. But now I don't feel too bad. I'm still going to read more about it and I most likely will end up buying it. ANy product that promises to thicken and grow faster hair is a plus in my booK! ;)

So do you all use the MTG oil or shampoo?

The only side effect I had was irritated neck and shoulders. Be careful to put a towel around your neck and shoulders. It made my usually flawless skin peel and irritated, and it caused sores to develop. But now that I know what I am telling you, I'm able to use it without too many problems.

I started using MTG about 2 weeks before I got my last relaxer I have always had very thin sides. when I got my relaxer this week my sides had filled in sooo much that I could not belive it! while using the MTG I really didn't think it was working. I had read everyone's post about how they had this wonderful growth and thickness in just a matter of weeks and here I was two weeks of use and I felt nothing was happening. Until now! normally when i get a perm my stylist has to style my hair to try and cover my thin sides. But not this time she just styled it and I was on my way. When I got home I looked in the mirror and I was like wow.:lachen:

One question I do have is how soon after getting a perm do you all start using MTG again?

Yeah, MTG is the bomb! Its a keeper for me. My hair is growing at a rate of 3/4" per month since using it (see Progress Pics for evidence), and that is a LOT for me. Plus, my hair is thicker than its ever been. I love it!!!! I plan to ride this MTG bandwagon until I reach my ULTIMATE goal of wais-length. :bud:
