zoj2 said:How long have you been using it on your edges?
WhipEffectz1 said:You grow girl! I waited a minute before I purchased mine. I am realist about my hair but MTG is slowly but surely making me into a believer. So it must be doing something because I rarely initiate threads, especially about MTG.
WhipEffectz1 said:Mane and Tail Groom. There are a variety of places to buy it but I brought mine from www.shapleys.com. You can also perform a search on MTG and you should get some good posts.
Kimberly said:My edges were the first place that I noticed a difference. I started using it about a week after my last relaxer and I already have about an 1 1/2 of new growth. I usually only get 1/2 inch per month. It's so thick and nappy, I'm not sure if I can continue to use MTG if I plan on stretching my relaxers. Honestly, I've stopped using it as much because my hair has gotten so thick and now I've started wearing wigs to work.

WhipEffectz1 said:Thanks dear! Yes, I do have a black rinse in my hair. I think my stylist uses Loreal Colorshines. In the beginning, I was using a different product on my hair every night but about six months ago I adopted a KISS regimen. I use the MTG 2-3 times a week, followed by a weekly condition wash with a light protein treatment. Dontspeakdefeat gave me good advice when she said to let the MTG saturate for a couple of days before you wash so this is what I do. When not using MTG, I use Sulfur 8. In the morning and at night, I spray my hair with distilled water to give it some extra moisture. Btw, I do the baggie method everyday over my entire head with a curl bag because I wear a fall and wrap a thin scarf around it(the combs in the fall were breaking my hairline out).

I want long thick flowing hair as much as the next chick, but animal products....I don't know....I'm a bit hesitant now after seeing that site. I don't think I saw one testimonial where a HUMAN used it on their own hair.
Sure it works great now, but what about weeks, months, and YEARS from now?? Will/can there be any potential side-effects??
Suri said:MTG was originally created for humans to treat skin disorders. When the company was sold, they realized that the product was good for horses and decided to target that market. If you do a search you will find a letter written by the owner who said she has no prior record of side affects on humans or horses, other than allergic and in that case if you think you might be allergic, do a patch test.
