@Napp, when are you starting at the JCP Salon? How long does it take to become a senior stylist? I'm so excited for you!

So I ended up passing my state board tests and just got my license! I am now a licensed cosmologist in the state of New York!

I should be starting soon. Right now they are doing a background check on me. I dunno how long it's going to take to be a senior stylist but I think I'm just going to start as an assistant

Congratulations! @Napp, were you already working in the industry in some way or doing hair at home?

Congratulations! Hope you have much joy and success in your career! :urock:

No. I have always been into hair but it was more of a personal hobby for me. in highschool i had a choice between taking cosmetology or taking sciences to prep for college. since i was planning to work in health care at the time i was advised to take the sciences. so i went to college and once i graduated i decided i was no longer going to work in that field. i was planning to get my masters in a related field. surprisingly an opportunity came to me where i could go to cosmetology school and i would have been a fool to pass it up. I'm so glad I did. its like a dream come true.

Good for you! After high school I wanted to pursue cosmetology but let myself be talked out of it. I fantasize about doing natural hair on the side, but my current work schedule doesn't accommodate local evening classes (but this didn't stop me from taking a school tour recently :ohwell:).

Congrats! Wish you were local. I need somebody who understands texlaxing!

Congratulations!
I remember when you started.

That's kinda close to what I did. I always wanted to go to cosmetology school but I was advised to go take prep courses for college. I didn't finish college the first time around but I eventually finished. The last semester of my senior year I dropped out again to go to cosmetology school. I figure that that was my last chance at my dream! I finished Cosmo school and undergrad the same year. It was awesomesauce!!

Congrats to you! I'm currently teaching but I keep my Cosmo license active. Im still glad I did it and I'm glad you had the opportunity to do it too! :)
