I am not sure

If I should get a relaxer, the last time I had a relaxer was Nov 19th, now everytime I comb and/or wash my hair I see pieces of it coming out with little bulbs on it, I am assuming this is shedding?, I washed my hair tuesday and I did a protein treatment, followed by a deep condition with Mizani Moisturefuse (sp?), then let it air dry with some Motions oil moisturizer (trying to use up what I have left before I get the cathy howse dew), I have also been wearing a protective style since then so there is little manipulation but do you think the shedding is because it is time for a relaxer? Sorry if this is confusing /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Hi Dandy112,

Your post was not confusing at all. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
What you described in your post is shedding. That is normal. You would be experiencing breakage if it were do to needing a relaxer. The hair would start to break off at the point where the 2 different hair textures meet. (demarcation)

Normally, the recommended time between relaxers is 6-8 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. This would be about 8 weeks for you, so it is soon approaching the time of a touch-up for you. Some lucky ladies have the ability to prolong the time between touch-ups and experience no breakage. This is not for everyone, myself included. Follow the routine you have always followed when it comes to your touchups, as long as you've experienced no problems with it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you Pebbles for your insight! /images/graemlins/smile.gif You have educated me about shedding and I feel better knowing shedding is a normal process Thanks again! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
